Jacquie Roar has finally started to feel like she’s making progress in getting her own, original music to her fans. However, the Season 24 alum of “The Voice” has been vocal about it taking some time to come to fruition.

“I didn’t want to be a cover band,” she told the Forest Grove News Times. “I wanted to be original if we’re going to make it and do something serious.”
Roar has been slowly releasing songs from her new album, receiving positive reviews and reactions. She has also revealed to fans that she was once scheduled to open for Grammy-winning musician Lainey Wilson. Unfortunately, life had other plans.
Roar Hopes to One Day Share the Stage with Wilson
“5 Years ago, I booked the opportunity to open for Lainey Wilson,” Roar wrote over a video of her singing “Good Horses,” Wilson’s 2024 collaboration with Miranda Lambert. “Unfortunately I caught C19 and had to cancel just 3 days before the show.”
Five years ago means that Roar’s missed opportunity occurred before she appeared on Season 24 of “The Voice.” Despite the frustration she must’ve felt, knowing that her career could have been different right now if that event had happened, Roar has remained optimistic.
“I’ve been working hard to get that opportunity again because Lainey Wilson is my inspiration to keep going no matter who says no,” she captioned the video.
In the video, Roar wears a beaded, flowing white dress. She expertly belts out the lines “31 years is a long time coming, feet off the ground, but I’mma still running. If you wanna love me, you don’t need a rope. You just need to know, good horses come home.”
One fan inquired if a full-length video of the song was available, to which Roar replied, “No, not yet.” Many others hoped to manifest the collaboration, tagging Lainey Wilson in their comments.
“Lainey Wilson let’s go!” One fan wrote. “Lainey Wilson can you make this happen!!!” Another commented.
Roar’s Hitting Fairs and Parties, & Her New Single Releasing on Sept 5
Roar may not be opening for Lainey Wilson in the foreseeable future, but she’s been busy nonetheless. This summer, she played at the Lebanon Country Fair, the Yamhill County Fair & Rodeo, the Jerome County Fair, the Clackamas County Fair, and at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer, Alaska.
On August 30, she’ll be performing at a NASCAR After Party at Portland’s Ponderosa Lounge. And on September 5, her next single, “Other Side,” will be released. Even without opening for Wilson, Roar is definitely getting her music out there for the world to hear.
