The Serious Scene Outside Beloved Hayden Panettiere’s Beautiful Home

The scene outside the South Carolina residence where Hayden Panettiere died showed the scale of the emergency response as new details emerged about the actress’ final moments. Photos TMZ obtained showed a fire engine and multiple ambulances outside the Greenville residence on Sunday, August 16. A vehicle from the Greenville County Coroner’s Office was also photographed outside the building. The “Heroes” and “Nashville” star was 36.


Emergency Crews Rushed to Hayden Panettiere’s Residence

A friend called 911 at approximately 1:51 p.m. after finding Panettiere unresponsive and reporting that she was in cardiac arrest, according to the outlet. Police and EMS crews quickly arrived at the residence. See the photos here. Paramedics attempted to revive Panettiere using “advanced cardiac life support,” which included CPR as well as additional emergency medical measures.

She was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m.


911 Dispatch Audio Referenced a Possible Overdose

Dispatch audio obtained by news outlets, including People, included references to an “overdose” and “cardiac arrest” while emergency crews were being sent to the scene.

However, authorities have not officially determined that an overdose caused Panettiere’s death. Her official cause of death remains pending.

Panettiere had previously spoken publicly about her past struggles with alcohol and opioid addiction. At this stage, authorities have not publicly connected that history to the circumstances surrounding her death.


Police Say There Were No Initial Signs of Foul Play: Their First Official Statement

The Independent confirmed Monday, August 17, that police in Greenville, South Carolina, were called to the scene at about 1:50 p.m. Sunday after receiving a report of an unresponsive woman. An acquaintance of Panettiere placed the 911 call, according to NBC News, prompting officers and emergency medical crews to respond.

Medical personnel attempted to help the woman, who was later identified as Panettiere, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. “Upon arrival, medical assistance was administered; however, the individual, later identified as Hayden Panettiere, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” police said in a statement obtained by The Independent.

The Greenville Police Department said its preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. The investigation remains ongoing, while the Greenville County Coroner’s Office works to determine the actress’ cause and manner of death.

Panettiere’s family confirmed her death in an emotional statement shared through her representative to ABC News on Sunday, August 16. “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden.”

Her family remembered her as a powerful presence who brought joy to those closest to her, as well as audiences who watched her grow from a child performer into the star of “Heroes,” “Nashville,” and films including “Remember the Titans,” “Scream 4, and “Scream VI.”

Panettiere had spent much of her life in front of the camera, beginning her career as a child before finding wider fame as Claire Bennet on “Heroes.”

She later earned critical praise for playing country singer Juliette Barnes on “Nashville,” a performance that brought her two Golden Globe nominations. 

Over the years, Panettiere also spoke candidly about the pressures she faced away from the spotlight, giving fans a more personal look at the woman behind the roles they had watched for decades.
