Andrew Walker Reveals How the ‘Wise Men’ Dance Was Invented — ‘It Was Really Funny How We Got There’

If you’re a fan of Hallmark movies, then there’s a very good chance that you’ve seen the “Wise Men” movies starring Andrew Walker, Paul Campbell and Tyler Hynes. In fact, thanks to the stars’ charming chemistry and the adorable stories, you may have watched each movie multiple times. That’s not to mention one particularly memorable aspect of the films that made fans smile. Of course, we’re talking about the dance.

Now, Walker has opened up about how those sweet moves came to be and revealed who was behind the utterly delightful choreography.

Walker, Campbell and Hynes Showed Off Their Sweet Moves

Although there are plenty of things to love about the “Wise Men” movies, CinemaBlend points out that “there are few things that can instantly up the quality of any movie quicker than a group dance sequence.” That’s why it was so fun to see Walker, Campbell and Hynes show off their sweet moves in their festive film.

If you’re unaware, while playing a trio of brothers in 2022’s “Three Wise Men and a Baby,” the stars “treat their loved ones — as well as the titular baby — to a reprisal of a dance they made up as kids to the tune of The Nutcracker’s ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,'” per CinemaBlend. If that sounds like the kind of thing that would delight you but you haven’t managed to see it quite yet, then you should probably know that it’s just about as wonderful as you might imagine. By that we mean it’s silly, sweet and more than a little entertaining.

And while those who have seen it may have thought they couldn’t possibly love the onscreen moment more than they already do, Walker has just discussed how the dance came about and it proves that the movies’ stars are just as fabulous together in real life as they are on the screen.

The ‘Wise Men’ Dance Was a Collaborative Effort Led by Hynes

If you don’t happen to follow Walker on social media, then you might have missed the fact that he recently sat down with his wife, Cassandra Troy, to answer 25 questions from fans to help mark Hallmark Channel’s 25th birthday. Sharing a video of the Q&A session on Instagram, Troy posed the list of questions that had been submitted in order, saying, “Number seven, how did the dance in ‘The Wise Men’ come to be?”

“It was a little bit of all of us,” Walker said in response while referring to himself, Campbell and Hynes. He then offered a few more details about the dance — that the three stars have been known to perform at live events (see above) — telling those who are interested, “It was a lot of Tyler. He brought in some examples from YouTube, and then, uh, Paul and I just kind of filled in the gaps.”

“I wish you would’ve seen the behind-the-scenes, ’cause it was really funny how we got there,” Walker continued, before adding, “Truthfully.”

At that point, Troy spoke up, saying, “And lots of FaceTimes that I got to witness, which was funny.”

Granted, that’s not the only funny memory that Walker shared while answering questions from fans. He also revealed the moment with Nikki DeLoach that he’ll never forget (even though he might be better off if he did). On top of that, he opened up about which two actresses he’d still like to work with and made a major annoucement about the future of “Curious Caterer Mysteries.”
