On January 5, Hough shared the baby news that “Dancing With the Stars” fans were waiting to hear — Derek and Hayley welcomed their first child!
“December 29, 2025 Everley Capri Hough 🤍,” he wrote in the caption alongside the sweetest photo of baby’s feet embraced by mom and dad’s hands.
Hough added, “Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed.”
While the couple didn’t reveal the gender ahead of the birth announcement, fans are certain Hough hinted at a baby girl during an October 2025 “DWTS” episode.
In a “DWTS” Reddit discussion, a fan shared the clip of Hough, noting, “Derek’s accidental gender reveal … Many of you caught it at the time, but not me. Just thought it was so cute how emotional he was getting.”

He appeared to catch himself before saying “daughter,” then finished the sentence without revealing the gender, saying, “my own child.”

Many fans missed this moment, however, and were surprised about the gender when Hough and Erbert announced their new addition.
