Paige DeSorbo Weighs In on Amanda Batula and Hannah Berner’s Rift Following Kyle Cooke Breakup

Paige DeSorbo isn’t ruling out a future reconciliation between Hannah Berner and Amanda Batula.

Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly at the Actors Rising event presented by The Actor Awards and ELLE in Hollywood on Thursday, February 26, DeSorbo addressed whether the former “Summer House” costars could ever become close again after their highly publicized falling out.

DeSorbo Isn’t Ruling It Out

“You know, I never say never,” DeSorbo, 33, said when asked about the possibility of the two reconciling.

The tension between Berner and Batula dates back several seasons of “Summer House,” ultimately contributing to Berner’s exit after season 5 amid conflicts involving Batula and her then-husband, Kyle Cooke.

While DeSorbo made it clear she hopes for peace, she also emphasized that she has stepped away from playing mediator.

“I’m always rooting for it, but I feel like it’s been so many years now I have permanently removed myself from the middle of it,” she explained. “So if they did, I would love it, and if they don’t, that’s OK.”

Beyond the friendship drama, DeSorbo also spoke about Batula’s recent personal changes.

DeSorbo said she’s been especially supportive of Batula during this new chapter. “I’m just so proud of her,” she said. “I’ve always wanted her to just be happy.”

She added that she believes both Batula and Cooke ultimately want happiness for one another and deserve it.

As for whether the former couple could reconcile romantically, DeSorbo admitted she doesn’t have insight into that possibility.

“I don’t know as much information about [that],” she said, noting that the pair appear to be handling their separation with maturity. “I think they’re both keeping it very amicable, and I think that’s very impressive of both of them.”

Batula and Cooke Announced Split in January

In January, Batula and Cooke announced their split in a joint Instagram statement, sharing that they had “mutually and amicably decided to part ways” after tying the knot in 2021.

“After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple,” the two wrote. “We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing.”

“It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time since we’ve always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter,” the statement concluded.
