In the Jan. 30 episode of her and Paige DeSorbo’s “Giggly Squad” podcast, the duo discussed their close-knit friendship, something fans have found especially endearing. During the conversation, Berner then reflected on a particular scene from the series that may have given the impression she wasn’t being a supportive friend to another co-star, which many fans believe involved Amanda Batula.
She clarified, however, that it was producers who intentionally set up the moment for the show.
“On reality TV, friendships are part of the storyline. Friendship breakups are part of the storyline; they want to see who is closer to whom, whatever,” she began.
“There was an episode where one of the girls, who I loved, was sobbing about something. And me and you were distraught, we have to comfort her,” she tells DeSorbo.
“We both go run to comfort her, a producer literally puts his arm in front of me, like tackles me, and he said, ‘No, let Paige handle this.’ And, I’m like, ‘But, that’s my good friend, and I want to be there,'” she continued.
“And that’s when I realized they want to show like two people being closer than someone else. In the moment you feel helpless, you feel like this might look, people might now be mad at me that I’m not like comforting someone,” she shared, adding, “But what you see on those shows is what they want you to see.”
Fans Hope Berner Rekindles Her Friendship With Batula

The two experienced tension during Berner’s final season on the show, with conflicts arising from Berner’s relationship with co-star Luke Gulbranson, her criticisms of Batula’s relationship with Kyle Cooke, and Berner’s business partnership with Truly Seltzer.
However, now that Batula and Cooke are no longer together after announcing their separation in a joint Instagram Story on Jan. 19, fans are hoping to see these two women make amends.
In fact, DeSorbo liked an Instagram post shared by @queensofbravo via @JaxBlocked that featured a photo of herself, Berner, and Batula gossiping together from a “Summer House” scene. The caption read, “Now that Kyle is out of the picture, I feel like we can get this friendship back.”
Fans chimed in, writing, “Manifesting as we speak,” with another comment reading, “My first thought was about Amanda & Hannah reuniting 😭.”
