Kyle Cooke & Amanda Batula Address Their Breakup During ‘Summer House’ Interview
Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula confronted their split head-on during a “Summer House” season 10 cast interview. Appearing on a Jan. 27 episode of SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, the former couple opened up about how they’ve been navigating life and their relationship since announcing their breakup.
“Yeah, we’re good. And that’s it. What’s next?” Batula jokingly began.
Cooke noted that “every step we’ve taken, there’s a little bit of like a weight has been lifted,” adding that recently, they’ve felt “lighthearted” when spending time together.
Batula agreed with Cooke, adding, “Yeah. It’s like we’ve been, it’s been easier to get along. But we’re good. We talk all the time. We, you know, we’re both traveling. So I’m watching the dogs. He’s watching the dogs. We’re co-parenting the dogs together. Still call him if I have questions.”
In fact, Batula even shared that she called Cooke for advice when her smoke alarm went off. Although Cooke couldn’t help her, the moment showed that the former couple was making strides toward a healthier, more positive relationship.
“I mean, look, more than anything, I want her to be happy. I want us both to be happy,” Cooke said.
Cooke Says He & Batula ‘Are in a Good Spot’ Despite Their Split
GettyIn a TikTok post shared on Jan. 22, just days after announcing their split, Cooke was approached by “Hollywood Raw” podcast host Adam Glyn in New York City, who asked how he was doing amid the news of the breakup.
“I think people will be surprised but also happy to see that Amanda and I are in a good spot,” Cooke shared.
He added, “Obviously, the internet’s gonna do its thing, but you know, we literally pushed send together. It’s a lot to swallow when your entire relationship from the very, very beginning is on TV. So we knew it wasn’t gonna be easy.”
Cooke also addressed reports that the couple had already split long before, explaining that at the time they were still “trying to figure out the best way to give our relationship another shot.”
“And ultimately, we decided we don’t wanna give each other false hope, we don’t wanna give our friends and family false hope, we don’t wanna give fans false hope… There’s no playbook. We were very much on the same page where we knew we needed to create some space… This is not some big surprise,” he added.
