“Summer House” star Kyle Cooke is opening up for the first time since his split from longtime partner Amanda Batula, offering a candid perspective on their separation and reflecting on the future with maturity and kindness.
The reality television personality — known for his role on Bravo’s hit series and for his entrepreneurial ventures — shared his thoughts following the news that he and Batula have ended their romantic relationship after nearly a decade together.
Rumors Swirled About the Couple
In a video posted to TikTok on Thursday, January 22, Cooke opened up about the split when he was stopped by “Hollywood Raw” podcast host Adam Glyn.
Cooke called their split “the worst kept secret” as rumors have been swirling for months regarding their status.
“It was like the worst kept secret, but we just weren’t ready to talk about it,” he told Glyn.
The 43-year-old added that despite their separation the two are in a good place.
“I think people will be surprised but also happy to see that Amanda and I are in a good spot,” he said. “Obviously the internet’s gonna do its thing, but you know, we literally pushed send together.”
The Split Was Announced in a Joint Statement
The two announced their split on Monday, January 19, in a joint statement that was shared to social media.
“After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple,” the pair shared with fans. “We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing.”
It continued, “It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time, since we’ve always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter.”
Cooke went on to add in his recent interview, having the split play out in the public has been difficult.
“It’s a lot to swallow when your entire relationship from the very, very beginning is on TV. So we knew it wasn’t gonna be easy,” the Loverboy founder noted.
Though the two may no longer be a couple, Cooke said there was no bad blood between the two.
“This isn’t like a big breakup where there’s a smoking gun and there’s a lot of hate. … We got each other’s back,” he added as the two are gearing up for the new season of “Summer House.”
