How Benson Boone Went From ‘American Idol’ to World Tours
DisneyBenson Boone first rose to prominence as a contestant on Season 21 of ABC’s “American Idol” in 2021.
While the then-18-year-old singer managed to impress the judges with his audition – a rendition of Aidan Martin’s “Punchline” – Benson voluntarily left the singing competition during the Hollywood Round, wanting to pursue his music career on his own terms.
Later that same year, he released his debut single “Ghost Town” after being “discovered” by Imagine Dragon’s lead singer Dan Reynolds and signing a record deal with Night Street Records.
It wouldn’t be until April 2024, however, that Boone released his debut album “Fireworks & Rollerblades,” featuring smash hits like “Slow It Down,” “Cry” and “Beautiful Things.”
His follow-up “American Heart” album released the following June, with featured tracks like “Mr. Electric Blue” and “Magical Mystical” rocketing Boone back to the top of the charts just in time for the launch of his first-ever World Tour.
GettyMore recently, Benson stunned audiences with a backflip-filled performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards after being nominated for Best New Artist in 2025.
His 2026 Wanted Man Tour will mark the latest step in the singer’s career. Stay tuned for more information as tour dates approach.
