Hollywood Week on “American Idol” 2026 kicked off tonight on ABC, but with a twist. These 127 hopeful singers and the “American Idol” season 24 judges weren’t in Hollywood, but in Nashville. Night 1 started strong, but who had the best performances of the night on “American Idol” tonight? Check out the videos below in our “American Idol” spoilers.
1. Philmon Lee
Philmon was one of my favorites during his audition. He was so calm and collected while performing, even having his hands in his pockets the whole time. However, that seemed to shift, as he was beyond nervous for this performance.
No clue why, as he nailed it. He sang “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims and hit some amazing notes along the way. Yes, he did sound very similar to Swims at parts, but then that last note was so good. I like this guy, and he has a strong voice.
Judges’ Feedback: He got a standing ovation from the judges. Lionel asked who possessed him? He walked out, opened his mouth, and turned into somebody else. That somebody else we love!
2. Braden Rumfelt
Braden has such a strong voice. It has a different sound to it, but he makes it work, especially with this song. He’s a good-looking fella and I think the viewers will fall in love with him.
Judges’ Feedback: Luke said can he make it look hard next time? We knew you were special in the audition, and we are here to lift you up. He picked the perfect song.
3. Chloe Lauren
Chloe has such a indie-type voice. It’s unique and I enjoy it. She sings “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Cydni Lauper, but puts a twist on it for her unique voice. I think she had a lot of nerves for this one, but I like how she changed up the very popular song. I think as she gets more comfortable on the stage she’ll do well in the competition.
Judges’ Feedback: Luke said she has one of the most original-sounding voices in the whole competition. He had a lot of emotions from this one, as he wanted to dance to the song and then liked her version and then it got sleepy for him.
4. Bryant Thomas
He revealed himself during the auditions, as he made a name for himself on TikTok for singing in the shower. Now, Bryant is in Nashville and vying for a spot in the Top 30. To be honest, I wasn’t overly impressed with his audition. However, this one blew me away.
For his performance, he sings “champagne problems” by Taylor Swift. This was such an odd song choice, but he killed the performance. I thought he sounded so good, and I can see the hype for him now.
Judges’ Feedback: Carrie said Bryant, you are a showman. She loves his vibe and his style, and he has a great voice on top of it.
