There was a whole new batch of singers that made their way in front of the “American Idol” 2026 judges. They were all hoping for a ticket to Hollywood and continue in the competition. Of course, it couldn’t happen for all of them. Their dreams of making it on the show ended here tonight.

Season 24 Begins
We kick things off for season 24. It’s day 1 of auditions, which are taking place at Belmont University in Nashville. I will share updates of who made it through as tonight’s show airs.
8:10 p.m. – So far, we have seen Lucas Leon audition, and he received a yes from the judges. He is headed to Hollywood Week!
8:24 p.m. – We have seen two more auditions tonight. Keyla Richardson, whose son also won over the judges, is headed to Hollywood Week. Then Jayson Arendt, who is also headed to Hollywood Week.
8:36 p.m. – Daniel Stallworth has also made it through tonight on “American Idol” 2026.
8:49 p.m. – We have our first no of the night, as Tate Emmons doesn’t make it to Hollywood Week. That is followed up by three yes votes for Jesse Findling.
9:05 p.m. – Some quick yes votes and tickets to Hollywood Week for Ricky Boyce, Brianna Yancey, and Jacquie Lee. Then another audition for pickle girl, as Genevieve Heyward gets three yes votes also!
Moving Into the Second Hour
9:18 p.m. – The second hour has started, and we see another singer move on to Hollywood Week: Brooks.
9:38 p.m. – Kyndal Innskeep made it to Hollywood Week, who was blown away after Lainey Grace auditions before her and sang one of Kyndal’s songs for her audition! Lainey didn’t make it through, though.
9:48 p.m. – Bryant Thomas has been singing in the shower on social media, but he came front and center today and made it to Hollywood Week.
9:58 p.m. – A very touching moment to end the night, as the final audition makes it through: Khloe Grace.

I’m just glad Idol is back. However….One of the distinct differences I have always like between Idol and The Voice, is that Idol doesn’t do too many of the “sob story” contestants. They stick to what the contestant has to offer vocally. I’m not heartless…trust me…but I want the show to be about the singing.
