Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire Announce Summer North American Tour

Lionel Richie will return to the road this summer with a coast-to-coast tour that pairs the Grammy-winning singer and “American Idol” judge with funk and soul legends Earth, Wind & Fire. The artists announced the joint North American run on Jan. 26, confirming a slate of arena shows set to span late June through mid-August.

The tour, titled “Sing a Song All Night Long: The Tour Continues,” unites two acts that shaped popular music. Richie, a former Commodores frontman turned solo star, will tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. The acts will play 26 shows across the U.S. and Canada.

According to a news release from Red Light Management, the tour opens June 24 at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota, and closes Aug. 14 at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

A Career-Spanning Celebration

Richie built his career on a string of enduring hits that continue to resonate across generations. He rose to fame in the late 1970s with the Commodores before launching a solo career that produced chart-toppers such as “Hello,” “All Night Long,” and “Say You, Say Me.” His music blends pop, R&B, and soul, often anchored by themes of love, joy, and connection.

In recent years, Richie has remained a consistent touring presence, drawing large crowds and positive reviews. His performances highlight both his solo hits and his Commodores-era classics. In a statement announcing the tour, Richie said he looks forward to sharing the stage with Earth, Wind & Fire. He added that the shows will focus on celebration and nostalgia.

Earth, Wind & Fire add their own legacy to the lineup. Known for hits like “September,” “Let’s Groove” and “Boogie Wonderland,” the group has earned multiple Grammy Awards and a reputation for high-energy live shows. Their fusion of funk, jazz, and soul has influenced generations of artists.

Tour Dates and Ticket Details

The tour will stop in major markets including Chicago, New York, Boston, Toronto, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Los Angeles. A full list of dates and venues appears on Live Nation’s website.

Presale tickets become available Jan. 27 through Citi Entertainment, according to Live Nation. General ticket sales open Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. local time. Select shows will also offer VIP packages that include premium seating and exclusive merchandise.

The pairing of Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire positions the tour as one of the summer’s marquee nostalgia-driven events. With decades of hits between them and a shared history of crowd-pleasing performances, the artists aim to turn each stop into a communal singalong.

As summer approaches, the tour offers fans a chance to revisit songs that have soundtracked weddings, road trips, and dance floors for generations, proving that some music does not age. It simply waits for the next chorus.
