Just over one year after first becoming a mom, “American Idol” season 22 finalist Emmy Russell is ready to welcome another little one.
Russell, the 27-year-old granddaughter of country music legend Loretta Lynn, announced her happy news by posting a touching video on February 26, 2026, which documented how she surprised her husband with a positive pregnancy test. In the caption, she wrote, “Secrets out!! Baby #2”
Emmy Russell Says She’s Due in September 2026
Russell started her video by revealing a positive pregnancy test to the camera, whispering “I have a surprise,” and then handing the test stick to her one-year-old daughter Taylor Ray, born on January 31, 2025.
As little Taylor scooted across the floor with the stick in her hand, Russell called out to her hubby — Song House founder Tyler Ward — and asked him to grab what their daughter was holding. As soon as he realized what it was, he screamed, picked up Taylor, and embraced Russell with a kiss.
When someone in the comments asked how far apart her kids will be, Russell responded, “Gosh! She just turned a year and I was pregnant before then! They’ll be a year and a half apart!”
She told another person in the comment section that her baby is due in September.

Emmy Russell & Tyler Ward Secretly Married in 2024
In 2024, Russell landed in the Top 5 on “American Idol” after an emotional journey, from singing about her battle with disordered eating to performing her grandma’s hit song, “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”
Weeks after welcoming baby Taylor, she confirmed to People that she got secretly married to Ward shortly after her “American Idol” journey ended.
The Nashville couple told People that they got married in front of a few family members with a Kroger cake and twinkle lights strung in the living room where they got married.
“Emmy and I had been together for a while, and her heart was just like, ‘I want to be married,’” Ward told the outlet. “And then I’m like, ‘I don’t think I’ll ever be married.’ And then you think about losing someone that you become best friends with and tight with and you’re like, ‘Maybe that’s what it is. Maybe that’s what marriage is. It’s just like, I don’t want this person out of my life.”
