Ryan Seacrest has interviewed countless celebrities and hosted some of television’s biggest live moments, but there’s one everyday experience that truly makes him squirm, and it happens at the doctor’s office. During a recent episode of “On Air With Ryan Seacrest,” the longtime “American Idol” host shared the surprisingly germ-filled reason he dreads check-in time at the doctor’s office, leaving his cohosts (and fans) equally horrified and amused.
‘Don’t Touch This!!’
The clip from the show was shared on Instagram, which was captioned, “Next time you go to the doctor’s office… don’t touch this!! 🤢”
In the clip, Seacrest explains, “When you go to the doctor’s office, they always give me a clipboard. And they say fill all this stuff out. And you half fill it out, right? Check, check, check, sign. So, the dirtiest place in the doctor’s office is that clipboard.”
Ryan’s “On Air” cohosts, Tanya Rad and Sisanie, were shocked. Rad gasped, with Sisanie saying sometimes it is an iPad they hand you. Rad was even more shocked when Seacrest started reading off some facts.
Ryan said, “It has more than 46,000 times more germs than a toilet seat. That is disgusting,” which Rad agreed with.
Seacrest added, “Do not fill out the questionnaire on the clip pad. That’s crazy.” Rad said, “Ew,” with Sisanie adding, “I never thought about that.”
Ryan ended his rant with, “Tell your friends that. That’s crazy.”
Fans React to Ryan Seacrest’s Revelation
After Ryan shared this disgusting news with his listeners, they were quick to jump online and share their thoughts about this revelation.
One person wrote, “So true!! I do online also now and I still seem to get the clip board. 😮,” and this person added, “OMG! Fortunately I do online check in at my doctor’s offices.”
This listener is playing it safe, adding, “Wipes are always in my bag !! 😍”
Be prepared was another piece of advice. This user wrote, “Interesting…also, the pen used with it,” while this person added, “This is one reason I carry my own pen & yet another reason I try to avoid the doctor’s office 🤮.”
The big consensus seemed to be use the online check-in option and avoid that pen and clipboard at all costs!
Did you know this information about that clipboard at the doctor’s office, or did Ryan get you thinking about all the germs you touched last time you were there?
