“Big Brother 28” has a new Head of Household, and Barrett is not wasting his opportunity to shake up the game.
Barrett won the Week 8 HOH competition and moved forward with an aggressive plan to nominate three returning players: Angela Murray, Dee Valladares and Rick Devens.
Taran Armstrong and Aman Adwin broke down the major power shift during RHAP’s Sept. 5 live feed update. According to the hosts, Barrett entered his HOH reign prepared to take a direct shot at the Icons after weeks of the returning players holding significant influence over the house.
Barrett Targets Three ‘Big Brother 28’ Icons
Barrett’s nominations put Angela, Dee and Devens in immediate danger and mark a significant change in the house’s power structure.
The move also limits the Icons’ ability to protect one another. Armstrong and Adwin discussed Taylor’s read on how Barrett could structure his nominations to reduce the number of allies available to help the returning players.
However, the houseguests are not completely united on which Icon should ultimately leave.
Taylor and Melody have discussed different priorities, while Drew has attempted to keep Devens safe. Those competing interests could become increasingly important depending on the Power of Veto result.
Barrett’s HOH also forces players who have previously navigated between different groups to make their loyalties clearer.

According to Armstrong and Adwin, Dee revealed details about Yash’s earlier bribe agreement, which prevents him from nominating Dee, Angela or Devens if he becomes HOH.
The revelation sparked confusion and confrontation as other houseguests learned more about the deal.
Armstrong also highlighted uncertainty surrounding what players are allowed to say about the power and its conditions, with Dee and Yash offering conflicting accounts of the situation.
Regardless of the confusion surrounding the rules, the revelation gives the house new information about Yash’s potential options if he gains power later in the game.
Drew and Barrett Face New Questions About Their Partnership
Barrett’s aggressive HOH has also put pressure on his relationship with Drew.
During a conversation about the week, Drew confronted Barrett about the possibility that he could eventually become an eviction target. Their discussion exposed some uncertainty about where their partnership stands as Barrett weighs his options.
Drew’s relationship with Melody is also becoming increasingly important as trust between Drew and Barrett shifts.
For Barrett, the week presents both an opportunity and a risk.
Nominating Angela, Dee and Devens gives him the chance to break apart one of the season’s most influential groups. At the same time, surviving Icons could have a clear reason to target him in return.
The Power of Veto could still reshape Barrett’s plans, particularly if one of his nominees earns safety and forces him to name a replacement.
For now, however, Barrett has done what the “Big Brother 28” house repeatedly considered but struggled to accomplish: put multiple Icons in danger at the same time.
With jury underway and the alliances increasingly fractured, his HOH could become one of the defining weeks of the season.
