Taran Armstrong broke down the latest developments from Day 49 during the Aug. 24 “Big Brother 28” Live Feed Update for Rob Has a Podcast. With Lala winning the Power of Veto and planning to remove herself from the block, Dee prepared to name Mallory as the replacement nominee alongside Drew and Taylor.
What initially appeared to be a pawn plan could now turn into a serious attempt to send Mallory out of the house.
Dee Plans to Nominate Mallory After Lala’s Veto Win
Dee began the week by nominating Drew, Lala and Taylor, with Drew initially positioned as her primary target. Lala’s Veto victory forced the HOH to reconsider how she wanted the rest of the week to unfold.
According to Armstrong’s RHAP recap, Dee decided on Mallory as the replacement nominee.
Dee initially presented the move to Drew and Barrett as a plan to use Mallory as a pawn. Behind the scenes, however, Dee considered shifting the target onto Mallory depending on how she responded to the nomination.
Mallory and Melody expressed frustration as the possibility became increasingly real. Their conversations also turned toward how they could reposition themselves and build new relationships if Mallory survives the week.
Rick Devens Works to Regain Drew and Barrett’s Trust
While Dee handled the nominations, Devens took on an important role managing relationships.
Armstrong highlighted a strategic maneuver in which Devens acted as though he already knew about conversations involving Drew and Barrett. The approach encouraged them to share their concerns and gave Devens additional information about where their trust stood.
The conversations came as Drew and Barrett questioned whether Dee’s decisions benefited their games.
Devens and Dee also worked on how to explain Dee’s previous bribe arrangement with Yash. According to Armstrong, they planned to leave out key details while attempting to keep Drew and Barrett comfortable with their position.
The maneuvering demonstrates how valuable trust has become as the house continues to divide.
ParamountTaylor and Haley’s Tension Carries Into the Game
Strategy wasn’t the only source of pressure during the day.
Taylor and Haley continued dealing with the aftermath of an emotional confrontation. Armstrong discussed how their personal disagreement increasingly crossed into game territory, although live-feed interruptions limited what viewers could see of some sensitive conversations.
Elsewhere, the potential Mallory nomination could force several houseguests to reconsider their plans for the coming weeks.
Drew and Barrett still hope to maintain flexibility between different groups, while Melody and Mallory are considering what their next strategic structure could look like.
For Dee, successfully navigating the replacement nomination may determine whether her HOH strengthens her position or creates new opposition.
