Rick Devens finally used the Diamond Power of Veto on Monday. This shook up the Week 6 nominations and put one of Yash Patel’s closest allies in danger.
Yash had nominated Angela Murray, Dee Valladares and Haley Thogmartin for eviction before winning the OTEV Veto competition over the weekend. He appeared to have control of the week. However, Devens had other plans.
Devens Finally Uses His Diamond Power
Devens had held the Diamond Power of Veto for the past three weeks, waiting for the right opportunity to use it.
At Monday’s ceremony, he pulled Dee off the block. Then he used the power to name Kamuela “Kamu” Kirk as the replacement nominee.
The move caught Yash off guard. Kamu had been one of Yash’s closest allies, making Devens’ decision an especially significant blow to his game.
Devens had spent much of the weekend debating whether to use the power. While sitting in a hammock, he told the cameras, “You can’t play these games scared,” before ultimately deciding to make his move.
Kamu Becomes the Surprise Replacement Nominee
The nominations now stand at Angela, Haley and Kamu.
With the BB Block Buster still ahead, one of the three nominees will have a chance to save themselves from eviction.
Dee and Devens believe they have enough support to send Kamu home if he remains on the block Thursday. Still, the situation could change depending on who ultimately competes in the BB Block Buster. It also depends on who sits next to Kamu at the end of the week.
Week 6 Eviction Could Go Either Way
If Kamu survives, Yash could regain one of his closest allies. If he leaves, Devens and Dee will have successfully weakened one of the house’s existing power structures.
For now, the Week 6 eviction remains up in the air, and Devens’ long-awaited power move has completely changed the game.
