Just months after leaving the house on “Big Brother” Season 27, Keanu Soto is already preparing for his next reality-TV chapter.
Filming Has Already Begun
The former contestant has signed on for Season 42 of “The Challenge,” bringing his alliance-building instincts and competitive reputation to one of MTV’s toughest formats.
An insider told US Sun that the move didn’t happen overnight.
Both Keanu and fellow Season 27 houseguest Morgan Pope explored the possibility of joining the show, but only one spot materialized.
“Keanu and Morgan both expressed interest in going on [the] next season of The Challenge after their Big Brother run,” the source revealed. “Morgan would’ve been a strong addition to the cast as she’s a challenge beast, but for whatever reason, Morgan wasn’t able to close the deal with the show.”
Production ultimately chose Keanu, and the process moved quickly.
“So, they ended up going with Keanu. He’s already signed on, and production is already underway,” the insider said, adding that filming has begun abroad. “They left over the weekend to start filming season 42 in Thailand, so the season is filming over there now. There’s no bad blood between Morgan and the producers. So, she can absolutely come on future seasons. But for now, it’s just Keanu.”
Keanu Has Already Talked About ‘The Challenge’
The pivot aligns with comments Keanu made in an exclusive interview with Parade after his “Big Brother” run, when fans began urging him to try out for “The Challenge.”
Asked if he’d consider more reality shows, Keanu explained how advice from fellow contestant Rachel Reilly shaped his thinking.
“I had a conversation with Rachel… She had asked me why I was here. I gave her my answer, and then I asked her, ‘Why are you here?’ And she was like, ‘Well, you know, in this business, your days are numbered. And so you take every opportunity that you can get.’ And that meant a lot to me,” he said.
“So I didn’t know what I was going to get coming out of here. But obviously, I was received relatively well. I like to think I would get other opportunities, such as The Challenge and other things. And I plan on taking every opportunity. That makes sense for me.”
Keanu’s reputation as a physical competitor — one reason allies voted him out late in Season 27 — could work in his favor on “The Challenge,” which mixes endurance, strategy, and social maneuvering.
The long-running series, once built around MTV alumni, now pulls competitors from multiple reality franchises, making Keanu’s jump a natural next step.
Season 42 is expected to film over several weeks before premiering later in 2026, giving fans a chance to see whether Keanu’s next move turns into a championship run.
