Kamu Kirk is speaking out after his “Big Brother 28” eviction, addressing the treatment of Taylor Brown and LaTrice “LaLa” Verrett inside the house. In an exclusive interview with the Cincinnati Enquirer, Kirk also discussed his own controversial comments and revealed whether he has been able to make amends with Jason De Puy.
Kirk Addresses Taylor and LaLa Comments
Kirk said he has not watched every episode since leaving the house, but he made it clear that he does not want to see Brown or Verrett mistreated.
“I haven’t watched all the shows,” Kirk told the Cincinnati Enquirer. “All I know, dude, is that I don’t want anybody mistreating Lala and Taylor, dude. I love them, and they were two of my closest allies in the house.”
Kirk said both women played important roles in his game and supported him at different points during the season.
“Taylor fought for me to stay off the block. Lala was gonna put me up and then didn’t put me up on the block,” he said.
He also named Yash Patel and Haley Thogmartin among his closest allies.
“They’re two of my close allies, along with Yash and then Haley,” Kirk said. “So I don’t want anybody mistreating any of them. They’re incredible people, and I love them both.”
Kirk Responds to His Anti-Drag Comments
Kirk also addressed backlash over a comment he made about drag during his time in the “Big Brother” house.
He reiterated to the Enquirer that his remarks were not intended to hurt De Puy or the broader drag community.
Kirk said he reached out to De Puy directly through Instagram but has not yet received a response.
Who He Blames for His Downfall
Kirk also reflected on his unexpected eviction and the events that caused his game to unravel after he appeared to be in a strong position early in the season.
His Red Corner alliance had established significant power during the first several weeks, but shifting relationships and competing alliances eventually left Kirk vulnerable.
Since his Aug. 20 eviction, Kirk has had time to reflect on where his game went wrong — and who he believes played the biggest role in his downfall.
