Britney Haynes is giving “Big Brother” fans a behind-the-scenes look at the show’s milestone 1,000th episode.
On the Sept. 2 episode of the “Where’s My Spin-Off?” podcast, Haynes and co-host Corinne Kaplan reflected on the live celebration. The event brought together former houseguests, longtime members of the production team and other familiar faces from across the franchise.
Haynes attended the live taping and appeared in the studio audience. She later returned to host part of a medieval-themed “Big Brother 28” competition.
While discussing the experience, she said the event gave her an even greater appreciation for the people who have kept “Big Brother” running. Importantly, the show has lasted for more than two decades.

Haynes explained on “Where’s My Spin-Off?” that hundreds of former contestants were invited to participate in the celebration.
She estimated that roughly 150 alumni RSVP’d, while the live studio audience only had room for around 30 former players. Other attendees watched from a separate area before everyone came together for the larger celebration afterward.
Haynes acknowledged that some people may have wished they were inside the studio audience. However, she said the post-show event helped put the milestone into perspective.
The celebration included food and drinks. There was also a stage where executive producers, CBS leadership and host Julie Chen Moonves addressed the crowd.
For Haynes, hearing from the people behind the series made the purpose of the gathering especially clear.
“This was not about us. It was about them,” she said.

Haynes said some people attending the celebration had worked on “Big Brother” since the show’s earliest days.
She praised the production team for spending summer after summer working on the reality competition. In addition, she credited them with helping build the franchise into what it is today.
“The takeaway for me wasn’t like, ‘Oh, did I get treated well enough?’” Haynes explained. “It was like, this is a really, really huge deal.”
She added that simply being invited to participate felt meaningful.
Haynes described the 1,000th episode as a milestone not only for the current cast or returning alumni. It was also a milestone for the crew members who have contributed to the show’s longevity.

Haynes also had a memorable role during the celebration.
She revealed on “Where’s My Spin-Off?” that her day included a competition rehearsal, the live taping, and the post-show celebration. Eventually, she returned to the set to film her portion of the “Big Brother 28” competition.
The filming stretched deep into the night. Haynes said she left around 2 a.m., while later portions reportedly continued for several more hours.
She also shared a lighter behind-the-scenes detail about the live show. She revealed that she was originally seated in the third row before production moved her into the front row shortly before filming began.
Between reconnecting with former players, participating in the live celebration and returning as a competition host, Haynes described an experience that highlighted just how much history surrounds the series.
More than anything, she came away impressed by the people who helped “Big Brother” reach its 1,000th episode.
