‘Big Brother’ Legend Dan Gheesling Delivers Sharp Comeback When Asked to Play Again

A question about a possible return to “Big Brother” came up for Dan Gheesling, a player whose name still gets pulled into conversations about the show’s most successful strategists.

Gheesling, 41, hasn’t been back in the house since his second run, though his results across two seasons continue to stand out. He won season 10 in 2008 with a unanimous jury vote and returned for season 14, where he made it to the final two again.

That history still follows him, including in his mentions.

A fan tagged Gheesling with a pitch that set it off:

“I would drown my bank account for you to play big brother again btw,” one fan said.

Gheesling answered with one line.

“Gonna need more than $10.00 to consider it,” the Michigan native wrote.

The reply took off across the thread.

Fans ran with the joke and started upping the “offer,” throwing out higher numbers and talking about pooling money together.

“How rude!” a fan said about Gheesling’s comeback. “I’ll also drain my bank account. How does an additional…….$23.67 sound?”

“Damn that’s definitely a BB-level comeback!!” another fan said.

“@CBS DO SOMETHING,” said another, tagging the TV network “Big Brother” airs on every summer.

In another part of the thread, a fan took a shot at Gheesling’s gameplay on “The Traitors.” Someone else added a jab about his haircut.

Gheesling didn’t let that one sit.

“Hey you can go after my gameplay but the hair…cmon man.”

Would Dan Gheesling Really Play ‘Big Brother’ Again?

In short, no.

In a 2022 interview with Entertainment Weekly, the “Big Brother” icon revealed his reasoning ahead of the season 24 premiere.

“For me, it’s a non-option for a couple of reasons,” he told the outlet at the time. “The number one reason is my family. I’m starting to realize when people say it goes by fast, I can already feel that. And to be gone from my three kids for three months, I couldn’t do that.”

He added that he doesn’t “have the passion to play right now.”

Gheesling and his wife Chelsea have three children together: Desmond, 9, Miles, 8, and Celine, 4.

Gheesling first appeared on “Big Brother” 10 in 2008, where he won the game with a unanimous 7-0 jury vote. He later returned for season 14 as a coach before entering the game, making it to the final two again before losing to Ian Terry in a 6-1 vote.

Gheesling finished first and second across his two seasons, matching Cody Calafiore for one of the strongest two-season runs in the show’s history. He was also the first player to reach the final two twice, a distinction that continues to come up in conversations about the game’s top competitors.

His season 10 win also came with a “perfect game,” meaning he received no eviction votes during the season and every jury vote at the end. That result is rare within the franchise and continues to be referenced in discussions about dominant winning performances.

On season 14, he became known for staging his own “funeral,” a strategic move that helped shift the target off him and keep him in the game during a critical week.

His results have kept him in the mix in long-running debates about the greatest “Big Brother” player, often mentioned alongside Dr. Will Kirby of season 2.

Gheesling later appeared on “The Traitors” season 2 in 2024 as one of the Traitors alongside “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks, with “Survivor” alum Parvati Shallow later joining the group.

His low-profile approach drew attention as the game progressed, with other players beginning to question his lack of visible gameplay. He became the first Traitor banished that season.
