During the opening episode of Bravo’s new series “The Valley: Persian Style,” one of the cast opened up in an emotional moment when speaking about a close loss they experienced.
Amir Boroumand honestly discussed the passing of his first wife, revealing how hard it was to cope with the event, the ways in which he was able to cope with the tragedy, and how it still affects him to this day.
Amir Boroumand Makes Heartbreaking Admission About His First Wife’s Passing
The first episode of “The Valley: Persian Style” featured many of the male cast members taking part in a guys’ night. Partway through, host Greg Haroutunian asked Boroumand about his past knowing that he had previously been married.
This prompted Boroumand to explain that his wife had unexpectedly passed away after suffering from an illness. “Yeah, my first wife, she passed away,” said Boroumand (via BravoTV). “She was young. She had cancer. It just came out of nowhere.”
What makes the death even more tragic is that doctors believed that his wife may have been recovering after receiving inpatient chemotherapy treatment. Describing her as “brave,” the reality television star went on to say that she died just a few weeks before a joint birthday party that she was planning for herself and Boroumand .
He continued, “The finality of it was so overwhelming. I remember it so [expletive] vividly. Every day, just waking up like, I can’t believe this is [expletive] real.”
He also opened up about some of the difficult conversations he and his late wife had, prior to her death.
Boroumand also spoke about the way his wife encouraged him to find happiness and enjoy his life after she was gone. “She would always say, ‘You’re not the one that has cancer; I do,” Amir explained. “She was like, ‘I want you to move on and I want you to have a good life.’ She was a great person. … Everything that’s coming in my life is because of her. So, I was like, I’m not gonna take this life for granted.”
Amir Boroumand Explains How the Loss Has Affected Him
Following the group discussion, Boroumand also detailed some of the ways that his wife’s death has affected him throughout his life. Now married to his second wife Natasha, with whom he shares three children, Boroumand revealed in a confessional that the event still has an impact on his life.
“It’s a big part of who I am,” he said. “It’s difficult because you don’t want to to talk about it, but I also don’t want to be, like, pitied or looked at differently because of it.”
“Her passing changed me a lot. Even now with Natasha, there’s definitely a lot of anxiety, a lot of pressure. I’m scared for the kids. When they get [a] cold, when they get sick, [I’m] like, ‘How serious is this?’ So, we go to the doctor a lot. But it provides a peace of mind for me that I need.”
He concluded, “Taking on, like, working and helping the kids, being there for Natasha and doing that stuff, is possible because I know what real work and real pain feels like.”
