‘The Valley: Persian Style’ Brings Shahs of Sunset Stars Back for a Grown-Up Chapter

“The Valley: Persian Style” premieres January 8 on Bravo and brings several familiar faces from “Shahs of Sunset” back to television, along with a new group of friends. Viewers will see Reza Farahan, Adam Farahan, Mercedeh “MJ” Javid, Tommy Feight, and Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi return, while new cast members join the circle. The new series follows the group as they navigate marriage, parenting, careers, and long-standing friendships while living in the Valley.

‘The Valley: Persian Style’ Introduces a New Era After ‘Shahs of Sunset’

According to Bravo, the inaugural season centers on a friend group at a crossroads. “The group is at a crossroad as they attempt to navigate their relationships at home and their bonds with each other,” the network teased in its show description. “When a trip to the desert goes south, they must reassess their friendships, acknowledge their own shortcomings and somehow find their way back to each other.”

Reza and Adam Farahan are 14 years into their relationship and have embraced a calmer, child-free life outside the city. Reza is now in a stable place with longtime friends GG and MJ after years of conflict, though unresolved issues still linger beneath the surface.

MJ and Tommy Feight face mounting pressure after their fairytale wedding quickly gave way to parenthood. As they juggle family life, careers, and loyalty within the group, their marriage is tested under the weight of everyday stress.

Gharachedaghi has traded nightlife for playdates but maintains her outspoken personality. After a short-lived marriage to a close friend and business partner, she is focused on rebuilding her personal and professional life.

New Couples Bring Fresh Storylines to the Valley

The series also introduces several new couples. Sky Askari and Bamshad Akhbari are dealing with ongoing tension in their relationship, both emotionally and physically. While their different personalities once complemented each other, unresolved issues continue to affect their dynamic and their place within the friend group.

Tanin Nikpey and Greg Haroutunian appear to have a strong partnership and an active social life, but their marriage has been tested behind the scenes. As they reach a crossroads, the couple must decide how to reconnect and move forward together.

Natasha Kashanian and Amir Boroumand add a steadier presence to the group as they raise young children. Even with a focus on family, they find that balancing parenting, work, and friendships is not always easy.

Reza Jackson rounds out the cast as a social and outgoing presence. While he talks openly about settling down in the future, he continues to embrace a single lifestyle and active social life within the group.

The Cast Reflects on Growth Since ‘Shahs of Sunset’

Reza, MJ, and GG all spoke to Us Weekly about how the new series reflects where the cast is in life now. “We’re further along in life, something the audience that watched ‘Shahs’ will be able to relate to,” he said. “Shahs was great, but Persian Style is amazing.”

MJ described the show as a more grounded continuation. “‘Shahs’ was the blackout party,” she told the outlet. “Persian Style is the even better afterparty — we bring receipts, growth and mortgages.”

GG echoed that sentiment, calling the drama “age-appropriate.” “I was 29 years old when I started ‘Shahs.’ I am now 44 years old,” she explained. “My friends are all successful, married or have kids, and so our lives and interactions look very different.”

“The Valley: Persian Style” premieres Thursday, January 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Episodes will stream the next day on Peacock.
