‘The Valley: Persian Style’ Will Deliver Genuine Drama, Says Insider

Bravo fans who have missed the energy of “Shahs of Sunset” won’t have to wait much longer. The network’s new spinoff, “The Valley: Persian Style,” has wrapped production, and insiders say the series is primed to deliver everything viewers loved about the original — and then some.

‘The Valley: Persian Style’ Will Be Full of Drama

“The new Shahs show is going to be a mix of what you loved in the past with new faces,” a source told OK!. “They wrapped filming the season already and it was LOADED with drama… and it definitely will be exciting for fans to watch.”

The insider added that the dynamic is different from many Bravo ensembles because of the cast’s deep-rooted connections.

“They’ve known each other for years and have real-life relationships. They hang out outside of the show, and they actually genuinely care about each other,” the source said.

“Even when they’re having drama or fighting, it’s genuine… and when things are genuine, it’s always a bit more meaningful. Stay tuned because once it starts airing, you’re going to be hooked.”

Some ‘Shahs of Sunset’ Stars Didn’t Make the Cut

Bravo announced on May 7 that Reza Farahan, Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, and Mercedes “MJ” Javid will return to the network for the new series.

According to the announcement: “Reza Farahan, Golnesa ‘GG’ Gharachedaghi, and Mercedes ‘MJ’ Javid share an unbreakable bond — one built on years of friendship, fiery clashes and the kind of history that never fades. They also share a deep connection to their Persian culture, something that runs just as strong in the group of friends they now call family. As they take on the next stage of life in the Valley, their world is bigger, their circle is bolder and their challenges are more real than ever.  As we’ll see, their next chapter in life isn’t quieter, it’s just more complicated.”

Other familiar faces, including Mike Shouhed, Destiney Rose, Nema Vand, Shervin Roohparvar, and Asa Soltan, were not asked back.

An insider explained to OK! that Shouhed “was not even included in the first reboot that was discussed when Shahs was canceled,” long before his legal troubles with Paulina Ben-Cohen surfaced. “He was never mentioned [for the new show],” the source said. “He’s like persona non grata. It’s as if he was never around.”

As for Destiney Rose, the insider explained that her move to Las Vegas made it tough for her to stay part of a California-centered show. When it came to Nema Vand, the source didn’t hold back, saying he “just never really clicked” on camera. Additionally, his sister, Mona Vand, started dating influencer Gary Vee, and later helped Nema land a job in New York, which ultimately took him out of the Bravo orbit altogether.

Bravo has not announced a premiere date for “The Valley: Persian Style.”
