Andy Cohen isn’t going anywhere. Just a week after being caught up in a headline-grabbing prank about replacing Howard Stern, the Bravo host has officially signed a three-year extension with SiriusXM. The deal keeps his popular Radio Andy channel and daily show “Andy Cohen Live” on the air. The show recently celebrated 10 years of pop culture chatter, celebrity interviews, and unfiltered fun.
Andy Cohen Signs Contract Extension With SiriusXM
The 57-year-old Bravo late-night host and producer will be maintaining his Radio Andy channel on SiriusXM for another three years. The contract extension will keep his station alive and well. He will maintain his hosting duties on his daily show, “Andy Cohen Live.”
For “Andy Cohen Live,” Cohen is joined by co-host John Hill. The show broadcasts every weekday at 10:00 a.m. ET. The show and station were both first launched on SiriusXM a decade ago.
Cohen told The Independent, “I feel incredibly lucky to have a home at SiriusXM that’s allowed me to build a destination for pop culture and fun, featuring talent that I love and admire. SiriusXM appreciates talent, and I appreciate them!”
In a statement to The Independent, Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM President and Chief Content Officer, said,
Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM President and Chief Content Officer, added: “We’re incredibly proud to celebrate 10 years of Radio Andy and even more excited that Andy will continue to be a vital part of the SiriusXM family. Over the past decade, the channel has evolved into a truly unique destination — a vibrant home for pop culture enthusiasts who come for the bold, live, and unfiltered energy that only Radio Andy delivers.”
Cohen Helps Prank Howard Stern’s Listeners
Cohen’s big contract extension news comes just one week after he helped pull a big prank with his SiriusXM colleague, Stern. Meanwhile, the rumors had been floating around that Stern was possibly leaving his station after two decades, largely because of contract issues with the network.
As it turns out, Stern isn’t going anywhere for the time being. He is currently in contract talks with SiriusXM to keep his show on the air.
However, that news came after Cohen surprisingly showed up to host Stern’s show on the morning of September 8. That was the day Stern was supposed to return from summer break. Cohen greeted listeners by saying, “I know you’re expecting a big announcement from Howard, and this is actually not how things were meant to go. Howard and the executive team at Sirius felt that it was best to kinda part ways now.”
Cohen went on to say that the Howard Stern channel would now be called “Andy 100.” News broke that Stern was leaving SiriusXM, but then Stern quickly returned to the airwaves after a commercial break.
Stern told listeners that everything they’ve been reading is “completely false.” He thanked Cohen for helping him with the on-air prank.
