Fans Feared ‘Below Deck’ Star Passed Away Before Her Sassy Statement

Chef Rachel Hargrove endeared herself to Bravo fans when she appeared on “Below Deck,” where she showcased her culinary skills. But fans were recently concerned for her well-being after it was revealed that she had passed away.

Below Deck’s Chef Rachel Hargrove Sets the Record Straight

Hargove saw the messages about her death and made a statement on Instagram on Thursday, March 12. She shared a photo of a post a fan had written, which said they were “very sad to learn @chefrachelhargrove has left this earthly kitchen.” The message also discusses how Hargrove is a “fiery Goddess Chef” and how they learned a few kitchen skills from watching her on the show. “Thoughts to all that loved her. Way, way to young,” the message ends.

Not only did Hargrove debunk these reports, but she also let fans know she would have gone out differently. “No I would have gone out in a Blaze of glory! #fakenews sorry still here,” she captioned her post.

Hargrove is not the first celebrity to fall victim to a death hoax, and just last week, beloved entertainment industry icon Queen Latifah found herself making a statement to remind fans that she is alive and well. Hargrove’s fans are relieved to hear that this news is just a rumor, too, and the comment section has been flooded with reactions from concerned individuals who can now breathe a sigh of relief. “Stop it, girl. I was about to cry in a bar,” a fan reacted. “I nearly took a stroke,” another concerned fan shared.

Other reactions include, “Guuuuuurrrrrrll I was on my way to Google,” OMG. I almost choked reading this!!’ I’m so happy you’re still here!!,” and “Thank GOD!! We love you, crazy and fun Rachel!” Fans have also shared how the account that originally posted the message appears to have deleted it, which means that Hargrove is “back to life.”

What Rachel Hargrove Has Been Doing Since ‘Below Deck’

Before the report of Hargrove’s passing and her statement, her last post on Instagram was on March 2. It is a video of her and her “little cousin” attending an event for the Red Star Foundation. Prior to this, Hargrove posted on Instagram on February 28, showing herself having dinner with Captain Lee Rosbach and his wife, Mary Ann. “Dinner with my favorite crew member, Captain Lee, and his lovely bride!,” she wrote over a photo of the three of them smiling into the camera.

“I love that he still calls her his bride!,” a comment wrote. Captain Lee and his wife, Mary Ann, have been married for over 50 years. “This Picture Made My Day. I Miss Seeing You And Captain Lee On Below Deck,” another person shared.

Captain Lee left “Below Deck” after Season 10 in 2023, and Hargrove left the show around the same time.
