Actor Christina Applegate has jumped to the defence of the “Below Deck” cast following a recent collaboration between two of Bravo’s biggest reality television series. The crossover episodes of “The Real House of Salty Lake City” and “Below Deck Down Under” sees the housewives take a yacht trip to Canouan, an island in the Grenadines.
Christina Applegate Defends ‘Below Deck Down Under’ Cast
The Hollywood actor took to social meda to express her feelings about the treatment of the “Below Deck Down Under” crew at the hands of the cast of “RHOSLC.” Reposting a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) from the Bravo TV account that showed an unusual interaction between Britani Bateman and Captain Jack Chambers, Applegate let her feelings be known.
“The treatment of the crew and my pals by the women was super gross,” Applegate wrote. “I hope they apologized to Jason [Chambers] and Daisy [Kelliher]. Wow.”
However, Applegate didn’t seem to hold her grudge for long and the next day she posted another message to X. This time, she apologized to the cast of “RHOSLC” and tried to be more understanding of the situation.
“To the SLC ladies I want to apologize,” she wrote. “I was just watching and was a bit shocked. But I realize you’re shooting a show too. And you’re my favorite franchise! Much love.”
She Previously Turned Down the Chance To Appear in the ‘Real Housewives’ Franchise
If things had worked out differently, Applegate may well have been involved in the “Real Housewives” franchise. Speaking on her “MeSsy” podcast in 2024, the actor explained how she had been approached to take part in “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”
“I was asked to be a housewife for Beverly Hills,” Applegate revealed. “They asked me to be one probably 10 years ago I would say. And what’s funny is I ended up becoming really good friends with the executive producer of it because our kids went to school together.”
Later in the conversation, Applegate spoke about how she thought she wouldn’t have been an interesting personality on the show.
She recalled asking her producer friend, saying, “He’s like, ‘Oh, yeah, we asked you.’ I said, ‘Chris, now that you know me, would I have been a fun “Housewife”?’ He’s like, ‘No, it would’ve been the most boring s*** I’ve ever seen in my life,’”
Applegate continued, explaining, “I wouldn’t have shown up to any dinners. I would’ve been in my sweatpants, and I’d be lying in bed. What fun is that? No, none of that.”
