Kristen Doute’s Surprise Tribute to Lala Kent Proves Their Friendship Is Back On

Kristen Doute and Lala Kent have officially put their feud behind them. “Vanderpump Rules” fans got a glimpse of their renewed friendship on Wednesday, October 22, when Doute posted a heartfelt tribute to Kent on Instagram in honor of her seven years of sobriety.

“Another oldie/goodie for [Lala Kent’s] sober birthday,” Doute wrote on her Instagram Story. “I’m so proud of you and love you so much.”

Kent made the decision to stop drinking in 2018 following the death of her father, explaining that alcohol had become a “coping” mechanism that only worsened her pain.

“When I went on the full-on binge drinking for, I believe it was three or four days straight, I just woke up with that feeling of being out of control,” Kent told E! News in a 2022 interview. “Not knowing what I did, just the guilt and the shame, and that was the moment I said, ‘I’m taking my life back. I’m not living one more day this way.’”

Kent marked the occasion with a night out surrounded by close friends from “The Valley,” including Brittany Cartwright, Zack Wickham, Janet Caperna, Jasmine Goode, and Michelle Saniei. Saniei shared a group photo from the evening on October 23, captioning it, “So much joy celebrating Lala’s 7 years of sobriety last night.”

Kristen Doute and Lala Kent’s Feud and Reconciliation

The tension between Kent and Doute began in May 2024 after an episode of the “Vanderpump Rules After Show.” Kent accused Doute of failing to defend her during a podcast appearance and said she felt hurt by her former friend’s reaction.

“From my point of view in this footage, Kristen was leaning back, like snickering at what this girl was saying about me as a mom,” Kent explained. “And I just could not move past that because I’ve opened up to Kristen about what I deal with with my ex on a real level… I just thought it was completely inappropriate of her to laugh.”

After months of tension, the two finally reconnected while Doute was preparing to welcome her first child. Kent described the moment on her “Give Them Lala” podcast, revealing that Doute reached out before a mutual friend’s baby shower.

“The day before the shower, I got a message from [Kristen],” Kent said. “She said she was debating coming to the shower because she didn’t know if it was appropriate for her to welcome herself into my home, with where we’ve been, but she wants to be here to support [our friend] Meredith.”

Kent said she immediately responded and took responsibility for the situation. “I’m sure it’s gonna be a slow roll,” she admitted. “I’m glad that we could make it right before she gives birth… I’ve taken a step back in life and really evaluated.”
