RHOSLC Angie Katsanevas Dishes on Unseen Moment With Captain Jason During the BDDU Crossover

Angie Katsanevas had “no idea” she’d be spending her first night on the high seas feeling seasick — or being cared for by one of Bravo’s most beloved captains. The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star opened up to BravoHQ about her eventful charter aboard motor yacht Katina, which doubled as a crossover with “Below Deck Down Under” season 4.

As seen during “RHOSLC” season 6, episode 7, Angie’s trip started with nonstop nausea and an unexpected visit from Captain Jason Chambers, who turned out to be far more than just the man steering the ship.

RHOSLC Star Angie Katsanevas Says Captain Jason’s Visits Made Her Feel Better

In an exclusive interview with Bravo, Angie admitted she was caught off guard by how intense her seasickness became during the first day of filming. “I threw up like, 25 times that day,” she said. “It totally took me away from the first day of the trip.”

Angie explained that she tried everything to recover. “I had to stay laying like a corpse to keep from throwing up,” she shared. That’s when Captain Jason personally stepped in to help.

“Captain Jason was coming in, bringing me soup, bringing me tea, bringing me ginger,” Angie said. “He tried everything but nothing was making me better — except his visits.”

The salon owner described feeling like she was being treated in a “five-star hospital.” She added, “I laughed because I had my eyes closed and I could not have felt less attractive, laying there in my big boat pajamas and smelling like I’d been throwing up for 24 hours.”

Later that evening, Captain Jason returned wearing his black uniform, checked on her condition, and tucked her in with ice packs. Angie couldn’t help but be impressed. “I thought, ‘Did I die and go to heaven? Is this an icon? What am I looking at?’” she recalled. “He was so kind and compassionate. His visits definitely made me feel better.”

Angie K. Opens Up About Her Hand Injury and Captain Jason’s Second Rescue

Unfortunately for Angie, her streak of bad luck didn’t end there. In the following episode, she found herself calling for Captain Jason’s help again — this time after accidentally slamming her hand in a cabin door.

“That was probably one of the most excruciating pains I’ve experienced in my life,” she told Bravo. “I thought my finger was cut off — it was that bad.”

The incident unfolded while Angie and co-star Bronwyn Newport dressed up in inflatable shark and seahorse costumes to add some fun to the charter. “It was a tight squeeze out of my room, and as we left, the door slammed on my hand,” Angie explained.

As cameras rolled, Daisy Kelliher rushed to get a medical kit while Angie screamed in pain. “Oh my god! I’m in so much pain!” she cried. When Captain Jason arrived, Angie apologized through tears: “Oh my god, it’s me again. I’m so sorry.”

But instead of frustration, Jason smiled and joked that he was “trying not to laugh” at the sight of a housewife in a seahorse costume needing first aid. Angie laughed through the pain. “Why have you guys had to take care of me for two nights?” she said. “Oh my god, I’m a liability!”
