Jarrett “JT” Thomas’ appearance on Bravo’s “Southern Charm” was brief but certainly unforgettable, marked by drama and clashes with his cast. Starring in seasons 9 and 10, Thomas got into heated confrontations with Austen Kroll and Craig Conover, experienced a major fallout with Venita Aspen, and was caught spreading gossip about Madison LeCroy’s marriage.
Thomas wasn’t invited back for season 11 of “Southern Charm,” but in a surprising update for fans, he revealed he’d sold everything he owned and relocated to Bali.
JT Thomas Shares Move to Bali to ‘Start Anew’
On Nov. 2, JT Thomas shared a major life update with his fans on Instagram. In a video post while in a swimming pool, Thomas shared that he had packed up his entire life and moved to Bali, Indonesia.
“So today is the first day of my new journey in life. I have pulled the ripcord and I am living in Bali,” he began. “I guess [I’m] retired, if you want to call it that. Retired, living in Bali after living my whole life in the US. I left my community, friends, my family. And why? … I don’t even think it needs explanation.”
“I think I’ve just been thinking about doing this, like probably many of you have. And so I said, ‘Enough’s enough.’ I decided to sell everything, or at least give the orders to sell everything I own, [my] business, real estate assets, car, watch, and just start anew until things become normal again — if that ever happens.”
Thomas shared that he was having a little difficulty adjusting to his new life. “I don’t know a single person [here]. I paid my rent for the month of November. I’m going to miss Thanksgiving with my family back in the States. And I have to figure out what to do today. I have to figure out how to fill my time. I got to figure out how to build a community, make friends, start over. Bali is incredible. It’s … paradise. But the reality is, if I don’t make friends and build a community, sooner or later, I’m going to [be] lonely.”
Thomas added that if he doesn’t manage to make friends in Bali, he’ll likely return to the “chaos” of the U.S. Concluding his video, the reality star shared that he would go to a local gym, learn to surf, and “watch the sunset at a bar.”
“And that’s day one, as I begin my new life.”

Fans can expect to see more glimpses of Thomas’ new life in Bali on social media. Just a day later, he posted a video capturing a funny encounter with a man and a woman while exchanging money at a local store.
Although Thomas’ move came as a surprise, his first post explaining the relocation received an outpouring of support in the comments. Many fans believed that Thomas’ move to Bali would help him find peace and healing, especially after a dramatic conclusion to “Southern Charm” season 10.

I think Craig was jealous of JT’s relationship with Shep and that’s why he made up lies about him calling Patrica names. I don’t think for a second he did that! I hope he meets his forever and has a great peaceful beautiful life there!
