Jenny and Dave Marrs seem to have more than 24 hours in a day, as their schedules are constantly jam-packed. The HGTV couple doesn’t let anything slow them down, including a little international travel.
Jenny revealed that she and Dave spent part of their summer working on a renovation project in Italy.
International Reno
The mother of five took to social media on Wednesday, August 19, to share a closer look at their family’s summer fun.
“This past summer was FULL. We continued work on 10 renovation projects for the show, one in Italy for fun, and we squeezed in two once-in-a-lifetime family trips with grandparents,” she wrote alongside a series of photos.
The Instagram photo dump included images of smashed floor tiles, a mid-renovation kitchen, trips to the stone fabricator, and antique shopping. Jenny also included snapshots from Italy, France and Alaska.
“As I started packing for our St Jude 24-hour renovation this coming weekend, I threw in my trusty @taosfootwear sneakers and realized they were my constant travel and work companion all summer. I wore them on long-haul flights, for work, while selecting marble In Carrara, at multiple antique markets across Italy, while visiting historic sites along the Normandy coast, on our Alaskan adventures, hikes, and horseback rides,” she added.
Jenny continued, “I once framed Luke’s shoes from our summer adventures after he outgrew them and they’re now framed and hanging on his bedroom wall. I can’t help myself – I get nostalgic over shoes. There’s just something about a good pair and the memories we have quite literally walked through together. 🥰❤️”
Marrs Travels
Jenny and Dave make it a point to show their children the world and have even lived in South Africa. During their recent trip to Alaska, Jenny opened up about one of the tough lessons life taught them.
“30 years ago, my Papa passed away after a courageous battle with ALS. He left this earth way too soon at age 53 with dreams left unfulfilled. My mom carried one her dad’s dreams with her all these years: to drive in an RV from our home state of Florida to Alaska,” Jenny explained. “After losing so many loved ones, including my Nana, this past year, the stark reminder of how fragile this life is propelled them to declare it was time. Although the logistics were daunting, they decided to be brave and adventurous and I am so, so proud of them! They’ve been on the road for almost 3 months- my dad wakes at 4 am to work first thing in the morning before they explore or drive on to their next destination. It’s certainly not easy but they have told us again and again that it is absolutely worth it.”
She called their summer trip to Alaska a “bucket list trip” for their family.
“It has been beyond anything we could have imagined or hoped for,” she added. “Alaska is breathtakingly beautiful yet rugged. Harsh yet gentle. Here, together, we are marveling at our masterful Creator with wide eyes and grateful hearts. 💕”
