‘Vanderpump Rules’ Alum Has Advice for ‘Summer House’ Cast on Reunion Amid a Scandal

The “Summer House” Season 10 reunion is about to be filmed, and the West Wilson and Amanda Batula dating scandal will be front and center for the Bravo stars. It’s giving off Scandoval vibes of Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss, aka Rachel, having an affair for months behind Ariana Madix’s back. “Vanderpump Rules” alum Lala Kent knows all too well what it’s like to go into filming a reunion amid a scandal, and she has some words of advice for the “Summer House” cast.

‘Vanderpump Rules’ Lala Kent Gives Insight Into Reunion Scandal Behavior

There’s no question that hindsight is 20/20, but Kent has that and is using it to help some of the “Summer House” cast as they demand answers from Batula and Wilson. On her podcast “Untraditionally Lala”, Kent didn’t hold back being honest about her behavior and why the “Summer House” crew should learn from her.

“I went into the reunion, and I was out for blood,” she declared before reiterating that Sandoval was never her friend or had her back, and he had constantly been reminding her of her past. Leviss, for her part, kept calling Kent a mistress.

Kent went on to add, “I was ready to lose my mind, and I did.” Despite the situation being so heavy, she set herself up for failure because she was so angry at the reunion. However, when she tried to be compassionate during the next season, “Vanderpump Rules” fans weren’t having it.

“I think my advice to most of the cast would be try your hardest to say exactly what you mean, but know that time changes everything and the audience is not sympathetic to that,” the reality TV star expressed.

“The Valley” star declared that fans don’t know the real cast members or the friendships that are involved in the middle of the scandal. She reiterated for the “Summer House” cast to speak their peace, say what’s important, but stay calm. Kent admitted again that when it’s all done, and everyone has a chance to breathe, emotions will change, and the audience isn’t always sympathetic to that.

“The moment cameras pick back up, and people see a softer version of you, you run the risk of being put in my position, where the audience lightly cancels you. They don’t appreciate a change of heart, especially one that happens very quickly in their eyes,” Kent dished.

Lala Kent Says Magic of ‘Summer House’ Is Lost

Along with advice, Kent lamented about how “Vanderpump Rules”, “Summer House,” and “Southern Charm” are the “hidden gems” of Bravo. The reason is the deep-rooted friendship in all shows.

Unlike, say, the “Real Housewives” franchise, most of the cast members on the other shows she mentioned have a real connection outside the show. Not everybody, of course, but many of them have it, which makes them stand out.

The magic on those shows is real because of the friendship. However, the flipside is that when something rocks a friend group, the fallout is that the show may not be able to go on as it has for the past decade.

“When something like this happens, the Scamanda of it all, you cannot recover. And in return, the show is just not the same because you don’t want to film together. You don’t want to be around each other, and that happened with “Vanderpump Rules,” Kent expressed.

Although “Vanderpump Rules” returned with Season 12, it was after a couple-year break and with a new group of cast members. “Summer House,” though, has already begun to transition to bring in new blood or perhaps go a different way with the show.

The City” is a “Summer House” spin-off, and Season 1 will air on Bravo in May. It sounds like the “Summer House” scandal might be a good reason to say goodbye to some OG cast members so they can focus on “The City” spin-off.
