West Wilson made his first personal statement about his romance with “Summer House” co-star Amanda Batula in a new episode for his and Sophie Cunngham’s podcast, “Show Me Something,” on Monday, April 20.
When asked about his relationship with Batula, Wilson made it clear that they did not start dating until after she and Kyle Cooke announced their divorce on January 19.
“That’s actually one thing I would like to be very clear about,” Wilson stated to Cunningham. “There was no overlap. I know there’s a thousand different theories on the internet right now, but that is one thing that for sure did not happen.”
West Wilson Says ‘Everyone Was Single’ Before He Started Dating Amanda Batula
“Everyone was single,” he continued. “So then we realized things are maybe a little bit serious in February, and that’s when this all started, and there’s not a whole lot more to it than that.”
The reality TV star went on to share that after his and Batula’s joint statement on March 31, they’ve both decided to keep a low profile online. Wilson even shared how Batula’s phone number leaked, leading to a rather unpleasant call from an unhappy critic.
“Trying to take it a day at a time and stay off my phone, but the internet is a very scary place to be. Amanda’s taken like a big brunt of all of this too. For example, her number got leaked,” he said. “I don’t know how that happened. And someone messaged her and called her a home-wrecking [expletive].”
West Wilson Admits He ‘Hurt People’
With all eyes on Wilson and Batula, the sports journalist shared that he’s reached out to “some” of his “Summer House” costars, noting that many have yet to respond.
“I’ve sent some texts [to my castmates]. Haven’t gotten responses from everybody yet, which is to be expected, and I get it. That’s the hardest part,” he said. “My actions have hurt people that I care about. But the reunion’s coming up, and I can give those apologies face-to-face and also clear up all of the crazy [expletive] that’s been on the internet.”
The “Summer House” season 10 reunion is scheduled to film on April 23. The season finale will premiere on Tuesday, May 19, at 8/7c on Bavo. Each season 10 castmate will be joining the reunion, including Wilson, Batula and their respective exes Cooke and Ciara Miller.
