Andy Cohen Breaks His Silence on Low Ratings for Major Bravo Franchise

Andy Cohen isn’t concerned about the recent low ratings for Bravo’s latest show premieres, despite fans speculating that cancellations could be on the horizon.

On Dec. 2, viewers got their first look at the newest, fresh-faced cast of “Vanderpump Rules” season 12, following the show’s full reboot. However, the premiere failed to draw strong live viewership. Even more surprising, a long-running and beloved “Real Housewives” franchise also posted disappointing live ratings.

Even Bravo’s top executive producer isn’t losing sleep over the latest ratings for the network’s newest premieres. While discussing the “Vanderpump Rules” season 12 premiere on his SiriusXM radio show, “Andy Cohen Live,” Andy Cohen broke his silence on the show’s disappointing live ratings.

“[People tell me,] ‘The ratings are so bad for ‘Vanderpump Rules.’ First of all, you don’t know the ratings for ‘Vanderpump Rules.’ We don’t look at live ratings. I haven’t looked at a live rating for anything on Bravo,” he began (via Us Weekly).

“You know what the live ratings are? Hashmarks. It’s delayed, it’s DVR and it’s Peacock. This is how [we] measure [its success]. It’s not about the live ratings anymore,” he added.

According to The US Sun, the Dec. 2 premiere of VPR season 12, which featured an entirely new cast working at Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR restaurant, drew in a mere 290,000 live viewers, according to the Nielsen database. It became the least-watched live episode in the show’s history.

The RHOBH Season 15 Premiere Also Drew Low Ratings

What truly stunned fans was the sharp ratings drop for “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” season 15 premiere, which aired just two days after VPR.

According to X account @BravoRatings, the premiere drew roughly 600,000 live viewers, representing less than 10% of Bravo’s key 18-49 demographic. The figure marked a series low rating in RHOBH history.

Of course, as Cohen noted on his radio show, the way audiences consume Bravo programming has shifted significantly, with most viewers now choosing to stream their favorite shows on Peacock rather than watch live. As a result, live ratings no longer reflect the full audience reach, with streaming numbers telling a different story.

In fact, RealityTea made a valid point about viewership when comparing numbers with the premiere of “Next Gen NYC.” Despite receiving a modest 300,000 live viewers during its premiere, it went on to become Bravo’s most-watched series premiere across both Bravo and Peacock, reaching 5.4 million viewers within its first 35 days.

  1. Unfortunately Andy and all the producers.. You people never listen to your viewers. Like get rid of Lisa Renner thank God that was done. But now we’re all telling you that we want Teresa of New Jersey housewifes gon from TV for ever. These shows are only about women fighting and saying evil things. We are tired of the mean girls on all if the whole franchise. And the only show we did watch faithless was Vanderpump Rules. But the new class SUCKS we won’t be watching most of the mean girls shows. We all lived through it when we were in Highschool. It’s time you start putting on nicer shoes. Tired of that whole meaness of the whole franchise. And you to Andy. We are all about 90 day fiance. Ss we hope never seeing these middle aged woman always fighting like the cats that they are. And Teresa of NJ is one of the meanest girls ever. Who fights with their brother like that. And constantly calling his wife a whole. Melissa is the only one on the show with class. So bye bye Bravo all of the housewifes suck , just like the Shahs of sunset who cares about them anymore. That also sucks. And we’re sure the viewers had dropped tremendously to. So good bye Bravo and Andy Cohen!!!! PERIOD
