This morning, Andy Cohen, while dressed in one of his signature colorful sweatshirts and delightfully rumpled hair, posted an Instagram story to tell fans that he just watched the first episode of the new “Vanderpump Rules” and LOVED IT. In between shushing his son Ben, he stressed that he’s just a viewer, not an executive producer, and so this ringing endorsement has no ulterior motive. He’s just a guy who objectively loves his Bravo programming.
And who could blame him?! After all, the show looks juicy AF. He even tagged Lisa Vanderpump in his story for emphasis, so you know he’s serious.
What Season 12 Has in Store for Us
BravoAccording to Cohen, “It is a whole new generation of servers. I am seated. I am here. I am into it. I’m so excited. It premieres tonight. And I will be on after ‘Vanderpump Rules’ and Salt Lake City [‘RHOSLC’] tonight.” By which he means his beloved late-night talk show, “Watch What Happens Live” where he will undoubtedly unpack the premiere with his Bravolebrity guests.
By Lisa Vanderpump’s own admission in an interview with Us Weekly, the previous iteration of of “Vanderpump Rules” needed a redo in the wake of Tom Sandoval cheating on long-time girlfriend Ariana Madix. “People didn’t want to film with each other. The dynamic was broken. It was shattered in so many different ways.”
And so, it was time for a revamp with a whole new crop of hot, hormonal waitstaff who were conveniently already working at SUR when she started to kick around a new dynamic. Newbies include: Marcus Johnson, Natalie Maguire, Shayne Davis, Kim Suarez, Venus Binkley, Jason Cohen, Chris Hahn, Angelica Jensen, Audrey Lingle, and Demy Selem.
Andy Cohen: The Bravo Master
GettyWhile Cohen doesn’t have a hand in this “Vanderpump Rules” reboot, during his years at Bravo, he’s been involved in dozens of other Bravo shows — from earlier hits like “Queer Eye,” “Project Runway,” “Top Chef,” “Million Dollar Listing,” the entire “The Real Housewives” franchise (which includes 12 iterations across the U.S., not including international locations), and his own “Watch What Happens Live.” So, if he says that an upcoming program is worth checking out, we’re all ears!
Season 12 of “Vanderpump Rules” premieres tonight, Dec. 2, on Bravo at 9/8c and will stream the next day on Peacock.

I so wish you would have “added” a few new cast members of “Vanderpump Rules”…as I wish we had a chance to see them go off into the sunset and have some idea of what happened to them..only 1 episode BUT was not thrilled with new cast..hoping as time goes go that will change…sorry, Andy..
I agree. I mean, they say this cast was lready working at Sur…but it doesn’t feel like it. There were visible and huge differences in the former cast…their personalities, their looks… it this cast ..the women all look a certain type, the guys are not your average servers. They all seem to have come into it with lines. I know it’s not scripted, but coming in on blast like they have… turned me off hugely. I may try one more episode, but I’m much more excited about The Valley, Persian Style coming up.
