Michael Kors Fire Island “Beach Bum” Compound Listed For $6.3 Million

Famous fashion designer Michael Kors has listed his iconic Fire Island beach compound for sale. The home sits on a 10,000-square-foot lot on the Atlantic Coast and was built in 2014. The home isn’t a typical mansion, opting for intentional design and thoughtful craftsmanship over sheer size.

Fire Island is located off the coast of New York, and is known for its stretches of pristine beach. This ocean-front view is part of what makes the Michael Kors compound a desirable location. The home, which was designed for a relaxed “beach-bum” experience according to a 2014 tour by Vogue, encourages relaxation and comfort alongside luxury living.

The Kors mansion is currently for sale, listed at $6.3 million. An Instagram post from IG_Mansions has offered a look at the compound, including information about the guest house, pools, and floor plan.

Michael Kors Fire Island Home Is Only 2,100 Square Feet in Size

According to the Instagram post, the Fire Island home is only 2,100 square feet in size, making it a modest home in comparison to other famous houses on the market. The home has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, multiple plunge pools, and outdoor showers.

As explained in the listing, the beach compound was designed by the architect studio responsible for Studio 54. The home has striking, blue windows that can be seen from the beach on both the main home and the guest house situated close by.

Aerial photos of the home showcase the simple, vaulted roofs that create the spacious and refined interior. A private bridge to the beach can also be seen to the side of the main property.

As shown in the many images of the Fire Island Beach Compound listing, the inside of the home is bright and luxurious. The white walls and accents are complemented by grey tilework. A combination of honey wood on the windows and floors softens the space, making it more comfortable. The main rooms are small and intimate, with a sitting room drenched in natural light at the center of the space.

A modest open kitchen looks out over a dining room with oceanfront views, while the primary bedroom combines space and built-in shelving for a cozy atmosphere. A small, private pool sits on the patio of the primary suite, while the large plunge pool is set at the center of the compound.

The entire home is settled in the natural landscape along the coast, with the guest house connected to the main property via a small walkway tucked into the greenery. The Kors Fire Island Compound adds to its appeal with this thoughtful design, putting beach time and comfort at the forefront.

Thanks to the compound’s remote position off the coast of New York, it is likely to be bought up quickly. Whoever has the means to grab it will get to enjoy all the thought and time Kors put into creating the ultimate relaxing getaway experience.
