Maggie Baugh is letting her music do the talking as rumors swirl around her and country superstar Keith Urban. The 25-year-old guitarist and rising country artist teased her upcoming single, “The Devil Win,” on Instagram Thursday, just as speculation about her relationship with Urban continues to dominate headlines following his split from Nicole Kidman.
Maggie Baugh Teases Emotional New Song
In the video, Baugh appears in a white silk button-down shirt paired with black shorts, sheer tights, and knee-high boots. Wearing her long brunette hair down beneath a tan cowboy hat, she strums her guitar and belts out lyrics that hint at emotional conflict.
“I don’t know what the hell I believe in / I don’t know how to heal my soul / Or how to fight this feeling and it’s a damn good place to go,” Baugh sings in the clip.
She continues, “No matter how close I get to the burning edge / Tempting as it is, I won’t let the Devil win.”
The tease comes at a moment when the guitarist has become an unexpected focal point of Urban’s personal life. Baugh joined Urban’s band as a guitarist in recent years and quickly became a fan favorite during live performances. But over the past few months, flirty on-stage moments between the two have sparked rumors of a romance.
On-Stage Moments Fuel Keith Urban Romance Rumors
Urban, 57, and Kidman, 58, shocked fans earlier this year when news broke of their separation after 19 years of marriage. Not long before the announcement, Urban performed his song “The Fighter” — originally written for Kidman — during an April concert and pointed at Baugh as he sang the line, “I was born to love you.”
More recently, during another show, Urban changed the lyric “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter” to “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”
Baugh posted the lyric change to TikTok one day before the couple’s split was revealed, captioning the clip, “Did he just say that👀?”
While neither Urban nor Baugh has confirmed any romantic involvement, her father, Chuck Baugh, told the Daily Mail he had “not heard one way or the other.” He added, “I don’t know anything about it, other than she’s a guitar player for him. It’s more of a musician thing than a dating thing.”
In a resurfaced 2017 interview with “Piper’s Picks TV,” Baugh said she was firmly against dating within her band. “There’s always been a rule, ‘You can’t date the band members,’ ’cause like what happens if we break up and then I lost the drummer,” she said.
Meanwhile, TMZ previously reported that Urban has “moved on with another woman” in the wake of his split from Kidman. “All the signs point to the fact that Keith is with another woman,” multiple sources told the outlet, adding that “it’s all over Nashville.”
