Country icon Shania Twain was not impressed by Brad Pitt at the height of his career.
The “You’re Still the One” singer, 60, famously sang the line, “So you’re Brad Pitt? / That don’t impress me much,” in her 1997 hit “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”
Now, the Canadian artist admits she has “never met” the “Fight Club” actor, 61.

Twain sat down for an interview on the “Will & Woody” radio show on October 26, when she was asked about including Pitt’s name in her iconic song.
“I was thinking, ‘Okay everybody in the world is in love with Brad Pitt right now,'” Twain recalled. “There were nude photos out of him, and everyone was gaga over that,” she added, referencing his leaked nude photos that appeared in “Playgirl.”
Twain continued, “And I’m thinking, ‘Okay, if there is anyone that is making an impression on anyone…’ That’s why I picked on him.”
Despite having never met the “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood” star, Twain said, “Like, he can seek me out, right?”
“He certainly doesn’t have to try very hard [to impress anyone]. I’m sure he’s got a very good sense of humor,” she added.
Shania Twain Has Joked About the Brad Pitt Reference
Twain’s appearance on the “Will & Woody” show was not the first time the “From This Moment On” artist spoke about the Pitt jab.
“You want to know the truth about this story? I’ve never told this before. I’m going to say it now,” she recalled during a 2017 interview at Spotify HQ, per Us Weekly. “I remember I had a girl friend visiting me and it was near Christmas and we were baking cookies. I was writing this album and there was a scandal of [Pitt] and Gwyneth [Paltrow] where there was naked photos of him [in Playgirl magazine, which Pitt later successfully sued for publishing the paparazzi photos]. And this was like all the rage.”
She went on to explain that she wasn’t “picking on” Pitt, but simply was not “impressed” by the scandal.
“I just thought ‘I don’t know what all the fuss is about.’ I’m like, well that don’t impress me much, I mean what is all the fuss. We see people naked every day. That’s really what I thought. I wasn’t picking on Brad Pitt. But that was just the association in that moment and things we make fusses about and whatever. Of course, it could have been any gorgeous guy.”
