“Dancing with the Stars” fan favorite Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, are fully embracing this new chapter in their lives as they navigate the joys of parenthood. They have openly discussed their happiness and how their love for each other has deepened since the birth of their first child, Everley Capri Hough, on December 29, 2025. It is early days, but do they want more children?
Hayley Erbert & Derek Hough’s Baby Dreams
The couple gave an interview to People, which was published on February 2. In it, they discussed their love for their daughter and praised each other. “Literally every time I see Derek and Everley together, I just start crying,” Erbert said. Hough added, “There are so many times where I’m just quietly looking at her and tearing up. I said this to my family: ‘Hayley was meant for this.’ She is such a natural mother.”
They also answered another very important question. Do they want more children? “After this we’re like, ‘All right babe, let’s go! Let’s go,'” Hough said in their joint interview. Their excitement is a beautiful thing to witness, but at this time, neither Hough nor Erbert has shared an exact timeline for expanding their family.
Looking to the Future
As Hough and Erbert look toward the future and envision a bigger family, they have also acknowledged the hardships they have been through in the past, including a miscarriage and Erbert undergoing an emergency craniectomy two years ago in December 2023.
Hough and Erbert’s social media is filled with hopeful, joyous posts, offering a glimpse into their lives and their relationship with their baby daughter. Their first post dedicated to Everley was on January 5, and it was the announcement of her birth.
Hough and Erbert have since shared a beautiful birth video, and Hough posted an Instagram video of himself holding their daughter, standing outside with a rainbow in the background. In the caption, he shared his thoughts, writing, “Rainbows have been part of Everley’s journey from the start, one showed up at her baby shower, another on Christmas Day around when she was due.”
He continued, “Two days after Everley was born, I took her outside for some fresh air. When I came back, Hayley was in tears. I asked if she was okay, and she said ‘I just saw the most beautiful thing.’ She’d filmed a rainbow that looked like it was literally rising right out of Everley. Birds flew by like something out of a movie. It was pure magic.”
