“Dancing with the Stars” alum Joey Lawrence has some exciting news! The actor and his wife, Samantha Cope, have welcomed a new baby into the world. The addition of a little family member comes after Lawrence and Cope reunited following some time apart.
Joey Revealed the New Baby’s Name
Lawrence and Cope took to Instagram on Thursday, April 9, to pop up a shared post that made the big announcement. In the caption, the parents — who were all smiles in the accompanying pics — revealed their new son’s name, writing, “🕊️ Ford Joseph Lawrence 🤍”
“Our newest member has arrived,” the caption continued. “What an absolute blessing you are baby boy! It will be an Easter Weekend to remember forever. 4.6.26”
When it comes to the images (and a video) included with the post, “the first photo showed Cope and Lawrence smiling together as the proud dad held up their newborn baby boy,” People notes. Beyond that, there’s a video of the infant being weighed, while the gallery “also included photos of Cope and Ford after what appeared to be a water birth, as well as other photos of the couple and their little one.”
People also explains that the new baby comes after “Cope filed for divorce from Lawrence in August 2024, but she signed a motion to dismiss the petition months later.”
‘Perfection Comes to Mind’ When Joey Tries to Describe His Kids
Lawrence — who shares son Ford and daughter Dylan (3) with Cope, and daughters Liberty (16) and Charleston (20) with ex-wife Chandie Yawn-Nelson — has opened up in the past about being a parent.
“Sometimes during those most special moments — I really just need to disconnect from the devices for a minute and soak in every bit of the experience,” wrote in the caption of an Instagram post that he shared on June 19, 2023. “Yesterday was certainly one of those times.”
“No words will ever be able to describe what I feel inside when I look at my daughters,” he continued. “Perfection comes to mind but that doesn’t even do it justice. I am such a blessed man. The gift of fatherhood is the greatest gift of all and I am just so incredibly grateful. Memories were made yesterday that I will cherish and remember forever. To all the Dads out there — you know exactly what I mean.
