DWTS Champ Robert Irwin Names Kangaroo in Honor of Another Mirrorball Trophy Winner

Dancing With the Stars” fans went wild when Robert Irwin was crowned the Mirrorball champion late last year. His older sister Bindi Irwin won season 21, so viewers were delighted to see the conservationists bring home another win.

Since leaving “DWTS,” Robert has been busy with other promotional events, as well as helping his family run the Australia Zoo. But he always has time to visit with friends and other “Dancing With the Stars” alums.

See what happened when the reigning champion hosted another winner at the zoo.

Robert Irwin Hosts a Former “Dancing With the Stars” Winner

In recent months, Robert Irwin and his family have graciously hosted other members of the “DWTS” family. Witney Carson and her family made their way down under for a visit.

Now, another Mirrorball trophy winner is sharing more about their time at the Australia Zoo.

“Dancing With the Stars” season 31 winner Charli D’Amelio proudly brought home the Mirrorball trophy with Mark Ballas back in 2022. Recently, she decided it was time to visit with the Irwins in their native country.

Charli and her friends visited the famous zoo during their vacation, sharing adorable video clips with fans on TikTok. In the caption, she thanked Robert Irwin for the “best day.”

While Charli loved petting and feeding the animals, perhaps the best surprise of all came from Robert.

“I think it’s only fair that you have a kangaroo named after you. I think that’d be fun. So little Charli, what do you think?” the 22-year-old suggested, addressing the young kangaroo in the grass.

“This is the best day of my life. Oh my gosh,” Charli D’Amelio excitedly replied. In the comments, the conservationist invited the social media influencer to come back and visit with her namesake any time.

What’s Next For the Australian Conservationist?

Robert Irwin might be the reigning “Dancing With the Stars” champion, but he has plenty of other projects to occupy his time. Immediately after the competition ended, he returned to his home country to host, “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”

But of course, Robert couldn’t stay away from the world of performance and entertainment.

Right now, he and Witney Carson are preparing for their stint on the “DWTS” Live tour. They’ll perform with the cast from April 21-30 before departing for other adventures.

“Dancing With the Stars” season 35 will head back to ABC this fall.
