Nikki Glaser Pitches Idea For Unique ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Spin-Off

When celebrities agree to compete on “Dancing With the Stars,” they understand only one of them can win the Mirrorball trophy. Many competitors believe they’re eliminated well before their time. That’s certainly the case for comedy legend Nikki Glaser, who finished in last place out of 13 couples.

Although she wasn’t fond of her placement, the podcast host has plenty of fond memories of the show. In a new interview, she proposed a fun idea for a special season of “Dancing With the Stars.”

Nikki Glaser Would Love to Return to the Ballroom

“Dancing With the Stars” season 27 was certainly an interesting season for viewers. Radio personality Bobby Bones and his partner Sharna Burgess defeated the odds and brought home the Mirrorball trophy, beating out Disney actor Milo Manheim and Witney Carson.

Nikki Glaser had plenty of supporters, but sadly left the show first.

“I was voted off ‘Dancing With the Stars’ first when I did that show. I knew I couldn’t dance when I signed up for it, but I didn’t really know. It was almost like I’d never danced. So I was like, ‘Maybe I’m great and I’ll find out!'” Nikki vulnerably admitted in an interview with Dax Shepard on the “Armchair Expert” podcast.

The comedienne said that finishing in last place was “one of the most humiliating experiences” of her life. To make matters worse, she felt that the entire network was against her.

“The other thing that hurt about it was that it wasn’t about just getting voted off because you’re a bad dancer,” Nikki continued. “It’s about, ABC is developing talent, and they’re like, ‘Do we want to work with you? Does our audience like you?’ And they didn’t.”

In recent years, each member of the cast receives an invitation to appear in one last dance in the season finale. Sadly, Nikki Glaser claims that ABC “forgot” to ask her back. But even amid all the heartache, she would happily return to the ballroom if asked.

“If they did a ‘Dancing With the Stars’ losers season, where it was all people who got voted off first or second. I would definitely do it again,” she told Dax Shepard.

The Comic Legend Kept Her Career Going After “DWTS”

Although finishing in last place on “Dancing With the Stars” was a massive disappointment, Nikki Glaser thankfully has plenty to celebrate today.

The 41-year-old will host the Golden Globes in 2027 for the third year in a row. Until “DWTS” picks up Nikki’s idea for a “losers” season, she still has plenty of projects to occupy her time.

Fans can expect to see “Dancing With the Stars” return to ABC this fall.
