“Good Morning America” weatherman and former “Dancing with the Stars” Season 31 competitor Sam Champion gave fans a positive health update on Wednesday, March 25, after previously sharing that he had undergone emergency heart surgery.

On Wednesday, March 25, Champion returned to work on “Good Morning America,” much to the delight of his friends, colleagues, and fans, and he also posted a short video on Instagram discussing his health. “I’m doing fine, feeling fine,” he tells the camera. “I woke up a lot last night,” he admitted. “Probably just nervous about the regular schedule and getting back to it today. But everything is really good … and I feel good.”
Champion thanked fans for their support and informed them that his latest health procedure had come as a surprise. “In a way, it shouldn’t have been surprising,” he said. “A lot of times, we say advocate for yourself, but in all circumstances, you don’t really understand what that means. I needed to take more time and push a little bit more because I knew I was having some trouble. When I got this new team of doctors, they were immediately on it, and they wanted to dig deeper, and so that’s the reason that everything went so well.”
He continued his message, encouraging fans to be more proactive with their health than he was.

Sam Champion Makes Brave Decision to Share Health Procedure
Champion has made the brave decision to share his health journey publicly, spotlighting the importance of being proactive about your health and taking the initiative to get checked out and to listen to your body.
On March 22, he posted several photos on Instagram, including one of himself at Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital in New York City. In the caption, he informed fans about what was going on with his health. “Many of you know I had a nuclear stress test last Thursday. And we found some things that needed to be taken care of so today,” he wrote. “I went in to the cardiac catheterization laboratory….. and we took care of it. Thanks to these procedures. I am well and expected to make a full recovery.”
Fans are invested in the Champion’s health and have sent him loving messages, while also keeping him in their prayers.
