Professional dancer Maks Chmerkovskiy recently spoke with EntertainmentNow to discuss his new micro-drama series, “Wild Silence.”
Dance will always play a special role in his heart, but he wants to explore acting as well. As a huge family man, Maks would also love to find a way to bring his family members into upcoming projects.
The ballroom champion didn’t give away specifics, but teased that his fans might have something to look forward to in the future.
Maks Chmerkovskiy Absolutely Loves Performing With His Family
Maks Chmerkovskiy has performed extensively with his family members over the years. But what would it look like if he included them in his acting?
When asked if he would ever like to work with his family in the this kind of space, Maks lit up. He described the amazing time he had while performing in the “Maks and Val” tour with his younger brother, Val Chmerkovskiy. Eventually, they added their wives, Peta Murgatroyd and Jenna Johnson, to the show and wanted to tell epic stories through dance.
Sadly, plans changed when the pandemic happened in 2020.
“We went for pre sale for tickets, I believe, in February of 2020, and a week later, and we felt like, yeah, maybe it’s not the right time to sell tickets to a tour, because a week later, COVID was announced, and we’re all locked down,” Maks recalled.
The brothers eventually produced their “Stripped Down” tour in 2021, which featured their show on a smaller scale. However, they never did get to have the family show they always imagined.
According to Maks Chmerkovskiy, there’s a project brewing behind the scenes. But for now, he’s keeping his lips sealed.
“I think that there is something in the pipe, in the works, but like I said, I’m going to keep it, I’m going to keep it close to the chest until we make that announcement,” the ballroom champion teased. “We can reconvene that conversation when that announcement happens. We have such, such robust careers, lives, family lives, you know, I mean myself and Peta as well as Val and Jenna with kids and opportunities. And you know, I think that when, when the right time comes, the right combination of self, sibling. This will happen, and we will go from there.”
“Wild Silence” Lets the Dancer Explore A New Creative Avenue
Maks Chmerkovskiy has had smaller scripted roles in the past. But “Wild Silence” allowed him to step into the starring role and show off his leading man abilities.
In the series, Maks plays Jack, a rugged, reclusive man living alone in the woods following a deep, personal tragedy.
