Professional dancer Maks Chmerkovskiy may no longer be a regular feature on “Dancing With the Stars.” But even so, he has plenty of fan support as he flexes his creative muscles and explores new projects.
Maks graciously spoke with EntertainmentNow to discuss his latest adventure, “Wild Silence.” He’s confident that his loyal fans will be captivated and entertained as he takes them down this new road.
Ballroom Champion Maks Chmerkovskiy Takes His Fans on a New Ride
Sky Frame“Wild Silence” is a one-of-a-kind micro-drama, currently streaming on the My Drama app. In the series, Maks Chmerkovskiy plays Jack, a loner haunted by his past. Jack learns to live and find love again by caring for a troubled woman he meets in the woods.
Although the project doesn’t involve dance, Maks feels incredibly grateful for having a dedicated group of fans who will support all his creative endeavors.
“I think I’m very excited about a few opportunities that are coming up in dance space, but that’s not for right now,” Maks explained about his decision to explore acting. “I think it’s more about, you know this, you know, this community that I’ve built, if I’m a speaker for myself. And you know, of dance enthusiasts, I think that I want to take them on a journey with me, if you will.”
Sky Frame“This is what I’m doing now. And so, you know, whether it’s dancing or touring or … in this particular case, a new venture,” the professional dancer shared. “I think I’ve always felt supported, and that’s … one of those beautiful things. I tried to not focus on the negative. You know, a lot of people are focused on the comments and all that stuff. I’m like, you know, you can’t, you know, pick and choose, and I don’t. I’m fair. So if somebody doesn’t like me, that’s fine, but I do feel that I am, loved and appreciated, and I try to do my best in return.”
The Ukranian Dancer Might Combine Dance & Cinema Someday
While speaking with EntertainmentNow, Maks Chmerkovskiy confirmed he still has a long, bright future in dance. It’s entirely possible he might want to star in a dance movie someday, but that project will need to fit his vision.
“I’m looking forward to the that dance movie that I will be a part of,” Maks shared, imagining his idea of a perfect dance movie. “Oh yeah, that’d be so cool, but, but I’m gonna tell you right now. It’s not gonna be, you know, shiny floor and sparkles. It’ll be a movie about something with dance in it, you know, because, you know, it’s important that I don’t misrepresent how I feel about something like that.”
Maks believes his idea of a perfect dance movie is possible, but he won’t say “yes” to any scripts until the perfect one comes his way.
“I’ll hold off on just any participation in a dance formatted film until the right moment comes along, and then it’ll be that sort of combination of what I feel about acting with what I felt about dancing. I can’t wait for that. Yeah, I think everyone would love to see that,” the dancer declared.
