“Alaskan Bush People” star Bear Brown opened up about the reason behind his shocking split from wife Raiven Brown, eight months after announcing their separation.
Bear Brown Details Raiven Brown Separation
Bear took to social media on Sunday, January 4, to set the record straight on his split from Raiven after three years of marriage.
“Raiven’s and my separation was mutual. When two people as a couple don’t get along, and there are kids involved, and even if there aren’t, it’s best for them to go their separate ways,” Bear began in his lengthy video shared via Instagram. “That’s what Raiven and I did. We both want what’s best for the kids and that’s our top priority. I want Raiven to be happy. I want her to find happiness. She wants me to find happiness. We’re actually friends and we’re coparenting really well…”
He went on to say that they even spent Christmas morning together at Raiven’s house, so that Bear could watch the kids open presents.
“We just didn’t get along properly as a couple. We make really good friends, and that’s really what’s important,” he continued.
The on-again, off-again couple announced their final split in April 2025, revealing there were “no hard feelings” between them.
“Raiven and I have decided to separate, we are still good friends and will be co-parenting together, it’s something we have been discussing for awhile, and we feel it is the best thing to do for us, and our children,” Bear shared at the time. “We will always have love for each other! This is a mutual discussion, so please be respectful to Raiven and don’t be hateful.”
Raiven Has Moved on With Girlfriend Kaitlyn Webb
Following her split from Bear—with whom she shares sons (River, Cove, Everest—Raiven hard launched her relationship with girlfriend Kaitlyn Webb.
Raiven shared a sweet video in November 2025 with her new love set to Cody Johnson’s “On My Way to You.”
“They make each other happy, and that’s what’s important,” Bear added in his Sunday post. “Also, I wanted to say that Raiven’s sexuality had nothing to do with our separation. That is not why we separated. Obviously, people need to find themselves and be true to themselves. But that actually had nothing to do with our separation whatsoever.”
It seems Bear has spent time with Kaitlyn and Raiven, as he added, “[Kaitlyn] is super nice. She is super, super nice. “
