Years after the Disney show, “Phil of the Future,” went off the air, the idea of a revival is still very much alive. And according to its star, it wouldn’t take much to make it happen.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Raviv Ullman discussed the show and whether he could see it ever being revived.
Raviv Ullman Would Be Open to Reviving ‘Phil of the Future’
GettyRaviv Ullman, also known as Ricky Ullman, was the lead character of the 2000s Disney show “Phil of the Future.” He discussed his thoughts on joining any potential revival of the show.
The actor and director was premiering his film “Drag” at the 2026 SXSW Film & TV Festival. PEOPLE, of course, asked about his former show and any hopes of a revival.
He quickly shared that he would be open to doing it.
“If they came calling, I would, of course, say yes,” he told PEOPLE.
“Phil of the Future” highlighted a family from the future that was stranded in the past after their time machine broke down.
“I have a lot of love for the ‘Phil of the Future’ crew and cast,” he added, which included Brenda Song. “I still keep in touch and contact with [costars] Aly [Michalka] and Amy [Bruckner] and the whole gang, and I’m a big fan of what we did.”
Ullman has attended several of Michalka’s concerts with the band Aly & AJ. The two have even had play dates for their kids.
“Aly and I have kids that are the same age, so we’ve gotten them together. It’s cute, you know?” Ullman told Decider. “We’re adults now, and kind of get to see in the new era together.
Raviv Ullman Also Credits the Show for His Film Career
GettyWhile discussing a “Phil of the Future” reboot, Raviv Ullman gave kudos to the show for fostering his love of filmmaking.
“I learned really how to be a filmmaker there,” the actor told Decider at SXSW 2026. “I got to be on a set every single day, learning how cameras work, and angles, and lighting. And [I] took all of that with me up until now to make my own film.”
Ullman is a co-director and co-writer of the 2026 film “Drag” alongside collaborator Greg Yagolnitzer, according to IMDb. The film’s story centers around two burglars whose home heist grows hectic after one of them injures their back.
The film stars Lizzy Caplan, John Stamos, and Lucy DeVito.
In his interview with PEOPLE about “Phil of the Future,” Ullman also revealed that he is still so “proud of it.” He reiterated that he would be open to Disney calling if and when the time was right.
“If there was ever a time to revisit it, of course,” he added. “But we’re so proud of the show that we made and that people are still talking about it today, it’s a gift.”
