‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Star Pays Tribute to Valentino Garavani with Heartfelt Post

Veteran actor Colman Domingo, whose acting credits include “Selma,” “The Running Man,” and “Fear the Walking Dead,” has shared a heartfelt tribute for Valentino Garavani


Colman Domingo Celebrates Valentino Garavani

On Monday, January 19, Garavani’s passing was announced on his official Instagram account. “Valentino Garavani passed away today at his Roman residence, surrounded by his loved ones,” the statement reads. “The lying in state will be held at PM23 in Piazza Mignanelli 23 on Wednesday, January 21st, and Thursday, January 22nd, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.”

The caption continues, “The funeral will take place on Friday, January 23rd at the Basilica Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri, in Piazza della Repubblica 8 in Rome, at 11 am.” Garavani was 93. 

In the hours since his death was announced, celebrities and fans have flooded social media with tributes celebrating his incredible life and legacy. Among those who honored Garavani was one Domingo. The actor shared three photos of Garavani on Instagram. The first shows him posing with models, and the second and third show him alone. In the caption, Domingo shared his thoughts on how this loss impacted him. 

“Thank you Mr. Valentino for inspiring so many to be beautiful,” he began. “To quote: ‘There are only three things I can do – make a dress, decorate a house, and entertain people.’ This man lived a life to make beautiful things and to make us all feel like we are living in a fantasy that becomes ones reality. I am most proud of my ambassadorship with @maisonvalentino because of his story. A life well lived.”


Fans Show Their Support 

In the comment section of Domingo’s post, fans shared their thoughts. “Another legend of Italian fashion leaves us,” a comment reads. “May he rest In peace,” another fan shared. 

Many have shared their heartache after Garavani’s death; he was deeply loved and respected in the fashion industry. Garavani founded his brand, Valentino, in Rome, Italy, in 1959, and worked with some of the entertainment and fashion industry’s biggest stars. Colman was among them, serving as the brand’s first-ever global ambassador for Valentino Beauty’s fragrance lines. 

Colman’s partnership with Valentino was announced on the official Valentino Beauty Instagram account on October 17, 2025. “Valentino Beauty is pleased to announce @kingofbingo as new Global Brand Ambassador for fragrances, to celebrate beauty as a force for inclusivity, authenticity, and self-expression,” the message reads.
