Kitty Spencer Shows Off A Royally Great Gown
GettyLady Spencer arrived at the Rose Ball in an elaborate creation from the Italian label’s 2019 collection, reported InStyle. Spencer has served as a global ambassador for the brand since 2021.
The gown features imagery from “The Loves Of Paris And Helen,” an 18th-century artwork by Jacques-Louis David. The painting currently hangs in the Louvre in Paris.
The empire gown featured an intricately beaded bodice embellished with coral, pearl and crystal, while the artwork on the skirt was created by needlepoint embroidery. In lieu of sleeves, Spencer opted for feather style removable cuffs, adding a touch of modern drama to the classic dress.
Kitty’s jewelry was reportedly also from the Dolce & Gabbana collection, per the Royal Fashion Police Instagram. The ornate necklace featured a cameo pendant surrounded by strings of various gemstones, with gold detailing.
In a stunning photo posted to her Instagram, Spencer called the gown “a work of art.”
Her family enthusiastically responded to her style, Tatler reported. Her sisters Lady Amelia and Lady Elizabeth commented “so beautiful wow” and “So beautiful,” while her brother-in-law Greg Mallett called her ensemble “unreal.”
What Is The Bal De La Rose?
The Rose Ball was a collaboration between Princess Caroline of Monaco (Princess of Hanover by marriage), Christian Louboutin and former Hérmes director Benoit Miniou. 2026 marked the 70th anniversary of the annual event, celebrating with the theme of “galaxy.” The lavish event promised guests “a journey aboard a spaceship, discovering mysterious exoplanets and stardust clouds shaped like flowers. A spatial, musical and sensory odyssey to the farthest reaches of the cosmos.”
GettyTatler also reported that the special guest of honor was Princess Akiko of Mikasa. Making a rare public appearance, she attended the event in honor of Japan Day.
The ball is an annual fundraiser for The Princess Grace Foundation, Instyle said. The foundation honors Grace Kelly, who was the late Princess of Monaco and mother to Princess Caroline.
