Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is sharing a heartfelt glimpse into his growing family. Months after daughter Holly Ramsay tied the knot with Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, the fiery TV personality revealed that his new son-in-law has started calling him “Dad.” It’s a simple gesture that clearly means the world to him.
New Member of the Family
Back in December, Gordon’s daughter and Adam tied the night in a lavish wedding. Since then, it sounds like Peaty is now calling Gordon “Dad.”
Chef Ramsay talked on the “Reasons To Be Joyful” podcast with host Gaby Roslin, saying, “He calls me dad. He messaged me and said: ‘Hey dad, what have you got? Hey dad, are you around later?’ It’s just like: ‘Oh my God’. Incredible. And what a lovely couple. They are a dream for Tana and I.”
The “Next Level Chef” judge went on to say, “Adam is one of the most gorgeous, disciplined young men you’ll ever hope to meet, and just so focused.”
Peaty Family Drama
Adam, 31, had publicly fallen out with his family after months of behind-the-scenes fighting. Peaty even went as far as banning his mother and father from his wedding to Holly.
The Standard reported that Gordon reportedly took a swipe at Adam’s absent family during his wedding speech. He has gone on to defend Adam, saying the rift is “self-inflicted” from his parents’ side. His sister, Beth, was the only Peaty family member to attend the wedding for Adam.
With the family drama, Gordon said he now feels like he’s gained a son after the wedding.
In his new Netflix documentary, “Being Gordon Ramsay, the celebrity chef even took some time to defend Adam and take a dig at his family. Ramsay said, “The most important family is the one you create, and she comes from an incredible family, so it’s now her time to create her own family. It is quite a moment.”
An Emotional Day
I just love hearing about how Gordon Ramsay, the guy who has cussed out several people on reality TV, is also such a sentimental guy.
When asked if he cried at his daughter’s wedding, he joked about the flower bill. But then he added, “The car journey, and she’s holding my hand, she’s squeezing it, and said, ‘Dad, it’s time’. And I… ‘Oh no.’”
He was starting to get emotional then, but “then I walked into the bloody church, and there’s Adam absolutely bawling like he’s just got out of the swimming pool. And even I’m feeling emotional now because it is an incredible day, and we had such an amazing morning together.”
This was the line, though, as it’s such a great perspective. Gordon said, “And I sort of got a new son as well, as opposed to saying goodbye to Holly. An amazing day.”
Great ending congratulations to the Ramsey family. Great looking couple. Parents who can’t be mature enough to put aside ill feelings, are basically jealous of their sons new life.
